The T6i and T6s capture really fine photos and acceptable videos. Photography continues to be a Rebel strongpoint, but video could be better. The new Rebels are more evolutionary models than anything radically different from the T5i. Still, these are very good cameras and should sell well.

  • +

Excellent stills, New 24-megapixel sensor, Status LCD panel, Wi-Fi/NFC for sharing, Fast response, focusing

  • -

30p videos a bit humdrum, Small viewfinder, Wireless pairing could be improved

The Rebel T6s brings resolution and low-light performance in line with its 2015 peers. The 19-point, all cross-type AF system is a welcome upgrade to the line, but is limited in its coverage and isn't good at following subjects moving around the frame, though formidable live view AF can somewhat...

  • +

24.2MP sensor, 19-point, all cross-type AF system, Hybrid AF with phase detect in live view, Effective subject tracking in live view, Continuous AF in live view, Optical off-board flash control, 3" articulating touch screen, LCD display on top plate, Wi-Fi with NFC, HDR Video, Flicker detection

  • -

Less sophisticated subject tracking than many cameras in peer group, Limited, low-density AF point coverage across the frame, Dynamic range still not as good as class leaders, Unsophisticated Auto-ISO system with no exposure comp in M mode, No direct access to AF point selection, Poor battery life...

The Canon EOS Rebel T6s offers some big upgrades over older Rebel bodies, making it our top pick for under-$1,000 D-SLRs.

  • +

19-point cross-type AF system. 5fps continuous shooting. 24-megapixel image sensor. Front and rear control dials. Vari-angle touch LCD. Top information display. Smooth video autofocus. Wi-Fi.

  • -

Pentamirror viewfinder. Limited buffer when shooting Raw. Full HD video tops out at 30fps.

The Canon Rebel T6s provides a compelling addition to the lineup of Canon DSLRs. Falling right between entry-level and professional DSLRs, this Rebel faces little competition. Its efficient dual control-dials and top status LCD enhance usability while keeping a moderately compact size.

  • +

Superb metering, Nicely saturated colors, Good white-balance, Exposure-Priority Live-View implementation, Fast Hybrid AF system, Good ergonomics with plenty of direct controls, Instant video response, Solid construction, Relatively light

  • -

General image softness, Above average noise, Limited dynamic-range, Autofocus misses more frequent than usual, Tiny and dim OVF, Rear control-dial too thin and flush

Breaking tradition is the Canon EOS Rebel T6s / 760D. Canon has introduced a long line of flagship Rebel models, but ... never did they introduce two at the same time. Since the EOS Rebel T6s contains a superset of the features found in the other same-time introduced camera, the EOS Rebel T6i, I...

I find it odd that Canon has recently launched two entry-level cameras – the EOS 750D and the EOS 760D – at the same time. Specifications-wise, these two cameras are pretty similar.

With the latest iteration of the Rebel series, Canon stepped up its game by provided a more advanced Rebel model (the T6s) to bridge the gap before you get to the prosumer models like the Canon 70D .

The Canon EOS 760D offers almost an identical set of features as the 750D, but the addition of a rear control dial, along with a top LCD and locking mode dial make the 760D much more intuitive and enjoyable to use.

  • +

24-megapixel sensor with low noise, Good noise performance up to ISO3200 / 6400, 3inch vari-angle touchscreen, Impressively quick live view focus (benefits video also), Wi-Fi and NFC built in, Excellent image quality, Excellent colour reproduction, Excellent touch screen, Q.

The Canon EOS 760D/Rebel T6s is the latest in a long line of cameras which, whilst undergoing regular revisions, haven’t always been significantly upgraded. The biggest case in point is Canon’s venerable 18MP sensor, which first appeared in the 550D/Rebel T2i and has been trailing the performance of...

When hopping from a compact camera (or a phone) to a more serious kit for your photography, your best choices are a small, mirrorless camera, or an entry-level digital SLR. I've had a Rebel XSi for seven years, was looking to upgrade. My budget is not full frame budget. I also thought about the 80D, however, most of my photography is casual, often while in the woods or walking around so I preferred the lighter weight of the T6s.

I bought this camera a month ago and I'm so happy I did. I never miss a shot taking a picture of my six-month old daughter and 11 year old son. The quality of the pictures are awesome and the camera is very user friendly.

I bought this Camera as an upgrade from my T3i. I recently got the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM for T3i , and now I completed the process.I really enjoy the new features the 6s has to offer I.e.

This is my first DSLR and love the camera. It is easy to use and fairly lightweight. Battery life could be better and the optical viewfinder could a bit larger but the dioptric dial helps with the clarity of view. Overall this is a great camera and I love the results I get.

Loving this camera. FAST shutter reaction. Great light adjustment. Took it on vacation to Glacier National Park and got some fantastic shots of the natural beauty. Love that I can connect via WI-FI and download photos to my iPhone for texting/posting.

I started out my Digital SLR experience with a Canon Rebel XT 10 years ago. I was looking for a camera that had more Mega Pixals and options...This camera has it with 24.2 megapixals. The pictures are beautiful, crisp and clear. The different photo selections are endless.
