The Beats Pill outperforms the Jawbone Jambox and has a couple of intriguing extra features, but the speaker is overpriced at $199.

The Beats by Dr. Dre Pill is a portable Bluetooth speaker with striking design, good sound and volume for its size, decent battery life, and speakerphone capabilities. It has tap-to-pair capabilities for NFC-enabled smartphones phones, Apt-X technology, and line inputs and outputs.

The Pill is somewhat pricey, and Apple iOS 6 users may encounter an unacceptable amount of Bluetooth hiccuping. The speaker doesn't acquit itself terribly well with big bass tracks from artists like Dr. Dre.
The Beats Pill is another portable stereo speaker launched onto an ocean of portable stereo speakers. But it features cool cosmetics, upscale tech features, and best of all - that unbeatable Beats logo. Alert the hipster audiophiles, stat!
As we leap head first into 2013 it is impossible to reflect on 2012 without admitting the huge effect Beats By Dre has had on the audio sector. It is hard to walk down the street, use public transport or follow a footballer’s tweets without regularly seeing a pair and the company has finally got...

Music reproduction is weak and lacks bass, Exorbitantly expensive, Limited battery life
The Beats Pill by Dr Dre is a small, portable Bluetooth speaker that looks, well, like a pill and it can stream your music from smartphone, tablet or laptop. When it’s connected to your smartphone it can also act as a handsfree speakerphone to make and receive calls.

Small and portable, Easy to use: Swift pairing, Agile, speedy rhythm, Livens up with punchy, bass-heavy music

Thin and weak sound, Could be more detailed, dynamic and agile, Picky with music genre, Pricey
I’ve been spending a few months on one of my favourite islands: Manhattan. And among my techie observations is that the marketing wipeout the over-hyped Beats brand has achieved in the US is even greater than in the UK.
The Beats Pill is a compact, well designed and easy to use portable Bluetooth speaker. However, it lacks bass, distorts at high volume levels and is overpriced. Spend your money elsewhere.

Love this speaker!! I have bought Bose speakers in the past but this Beats by Dr Dre Pill Plus is so much better!! It is very easy to use and sounds awesome!!
The Beats Pill is a fantastic piece of electronic that not only looks sleek but also emits decent sounding tunes via Bluetooth. I bought it to replace our aging Altec Lansing inMotion IM310 Portable Speakers which served us well since 2009.
I have had 2 other bluetooth speakers. A JBL Flip, and a Bose Soundlink Mini 1. Both were good speakers, but this Beats Pill + is the best I've had so far. (JBL was decent but not rich enough sound.
Honestly not as bad as some of the one star reviews would have you believe. It is good enough to not return. I use the pill at my desk at work and it fills my office with solid sound. I listen to a lot of classic rock and the mids are great with clear voice, drums, and guitar solos.
Nice speaker I love it... Very nice and clear sound..
I just purchased a Beats Pill and after having for a week I wasn't that satisfied with the bass response. I decided to try out a Bose Soundlink Mini and the sound is far superior. The Pill has some hipster factor but for sound I would go with the Bose.
Better sound quality than listening to my music just through my iPhone or iPad.
Nice and portable. I usually prefer black and red so this color scheme looked neat especially when the B lights up. However, it does not have the best bass quality. And it's not as loud as you would think. I used it to FaceTime with a group and used this thinking it would amplify the volume.
Great speaker and lasted about 7 years. Wish they had it again.
Nice gift
