It lacks the features and speed of a cutting-edge iPad, but the Mini 2 is still a solid tablet for basics, especially if you can buy it at a discount.

The iPad Mini 2 has a sharp Retina screen, an ultraportable design, great battery life and it's the most affordable tablet with access to the iOS App Store. Upgradeable to iOS 10 later this year.

Android and Amazon tablets -- and even Windows laptops -- are available for less. Base model includes only 16GB of non-expandable storage. It's missing the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and split-screen feature found on newer iPads.
The iPad Mini Retina is a worthy successor of the first iPad Mini generation and a very good tablet. However, it does not quite deserve a place on the podium. The Retina display is an excellent new feature, but its limited color space coverage and poor color accuracy are shortcomings for a premium...

Bright, high-contrast display, Good touchscreen, Lightning-fast SoC, Excellent battery life, First class manufacturing, Good browser performance, Great speakers..., Such a high resolution display is unique in a device of this size, and subjectively it's a very attractive feature.

...that are poorly positioned, No current data transfer standards, Limited color space coverage, Poor color accuracy, Somewhat heavier and thicker than its predecessor, Expensive, A larger array of connections, Flash support and expandable storage.
Performance Summary: It comes as no surprise that the iPad mini with Retina display is a barn-burner when it comes to performance. It’s the first 7” slate to be equipped with a 64-bit processor, and considering that the internal composition here is quite similar to that found in the iPhone 5s and...

Sleek, compact design, Fast A7 chip is up to the task of gaming, iOS 7, if you like the new interface, Same long battery life as before, Robust app ecosystem, Nice Retina display

Needs more system RAM, So-so camera performance, Very pricey for the segment, No Touch ID fingerprint sensor
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a fine example of the increasingly rare premium Android tablet, but it's not the best small-screen value.

Thin and light., Sharp display., Fast performance., Runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

Expensive., Needs better palm rejection.
“The second iPad Mini is our favorite tablet of 2013, and the current tablet to beat. We wish it cost less than $400.”
The iPad Mini with Retina display is essentially the same iPad Mini we used to know and love. It’s just faster and better. The improvements are exactly where we wanted them. Our only complaint is that Apple priced it way higher than we expected (almost 20-25% from the previous version) putting it in...

* Great display quality, * Great performance, * Long battery life, * Impressive design and profile
Welcome to yet another installment of the Good e-Reader Video Comparison Series! Today we check out the Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display and the Apple iPad Air. Over the course of the video we check out the reading experience with eBooks, magazines, newspapers, and comic books.
When I concluded our iPad Air review I assumed the iPad mini with Retina Display was a true no-compromise, smaller alternative to the iPad Air. In many senses that’s true. Wireless connectivity is identical between the models, battery life is pretty much the same as well.
It has the same RAM issue as the iPad Air, but it’s still a stand-out tablet.
Each and every year, Apple refreshes their tablet line-up with new hardware and new features. The full sized iP
Its just ok...life of the battery sucks...dies super fast all 3 I purchased are like that. The charger that came with it take way to long to get it charged I had to buy another rapid fast charger to see if it would help it does but still don't help the battery life.
Easy to use light weight Perfect for what we use it for

No cons
This is a great tablet despite what all the nay sayers complain about the screen not being a retina display. I had a generation 1 iPad and also a samsung galaxy tab 2 7 inch. The galaxy is nice, but the ipad mini has an easier to view screen and the overall feel of the tablet is super slim and...
Still the best tablet (now in mini form).

Some things can look tiny.
The product works fine but the IPAD's charging cable doesn't work and the IPAD itself doesnt hold a charge and never charges to 100% fully.
Great to use worth the purchase looking forward to getting the iPad air 2
