This is an amazing glass, fast and sharp, don't let the manual focus scare you away. Only hard decision is now to shot a portrait with 135 or 85mm ?
amazing ,sharp, but I need more time to learn up focusing
I recently bought a secondhand example of this lens in Pentax mount for my freshly acquired Pentax K-1. Absolutely brilliant. Frighteningly sharp from f2 onwards. It gives really nice colour rendition.
I love this lens. The lens is not perfect when compared to the Otus or Milvus versions in terms of outright optical quality, but at 85mm this is a portrait lens and for portrait work this lens is preferable to the either alternative. It renders in a way that that is perfect for portraiture.
Went on 3 photoshoots with this particular lens. I will say its very well built, seems dead solid and the focus ring is amazingly smooth. However, for performance. I had CA in every shoot so far.
Beautiful lens. I've used this via a Novoflex adapter for the Sony FS100. It creates a beautiful soft image, with nice bokeh, the only problem I have is that when I focus it, it seems to shift the F-stop slightly. not a problem for still shooters, but for video this is bad.
What can I say? This was my first time to own a 85mm prime, but there's probably not a better place to start. This lens made me fall in love with 85mm. Sounds funny I guess, but a really useful lens and the image quality and nice speed is excellent.
