Strong center sharpness. Excellent manual focus experience. No distortion. Physical aperture ring. Superb build. Dust and splash resistant.

I highly recommend this lens. Solid build, manual focus is smooth and accurate and colors are superb. The reason I dint give 5 stars was that after three days of use, the metal ribbing on the grip for focus ring got "dented" - I treasure my lenses and use them with extreme care, so I was surprised...
Very sharp lens. Finally the prime lens I was hoping for when I purchased my Nex-7. Some faulty ARW processing by Aperture if shot in other than "P" mode. No problems with Capture One 10.

The build of this lens is solid and durable. It works great in combination with the Sony a7R II, and produces beautifully rendered photos with excellent color and sharpness.
Zeiss could not have done better with the built quality of this lens. Manual focus is perfectly smooth. When de-clicked for video work (easy with the supplied tool), this lens is ideal for video with the a7 series full frame cameras. It also works perfectly well attached to the a7s ii on a gimbal.
