Lenses with focal lengths ranging from 24 to 35 mm and with f/1.4 aperture are most often very expensive constructions, aimed mostly at professionals. Many amateur photographers covet them secretively as well but most often the price barrier remains insurmountable for them.
image quality on the edge of full frame could have been a bit better,, huge vignetting on full frame.
My experience with this lens is limited, as I have only used it as a rental, and only for night photography and aurora. With that in mind, I found that after about 10 minutes of practice, I was able to accurately focus at night.
Accurate Manual Focus, Consistent Output, Durable, Easy To Manually Focus, Excellent Microcontrast, Great Contrast, Relatively Small Size, Sharp, Strong Construction
Though the 25mm seems like it's the unwanted little brother of the nearby 28mm and 18mm lenses, I would highly recommend it. This lens has the same solid feel and quality glass you expect from Zeiss. I actually find it to be the perfect compromise. It's just wide enough for most applications.
