I have two of the 600EX-RT. Bought them before the II came out unfortunately. They are flawless ! Yes, instructions are not the best but if you know your way around Flash photography, good to go.. Actually the Canon manual is pretty close. Sorry Canon.
For the price you cannot go wrong. Increasing ISO saves batteries. Battery cover is delicate, push down then slide. HSS and second curtain is impressive. Head rotation is positive aspect. I use TTL for moving subjects but prefer manual mode.
I own three of these flashes and they all work flawlessly, good battery life, wireless is reliable, consistent flash output in strength and colour. I don't really see the need to buy the Canon version for 4x the price except for the brand recognition.
Overall, a reliable speedlite. I took it on a shoot and got great results. I had one issue, however. Toward the end of the shoot the light would suddenly switch to "Master" mode, thus breaking the link with the Yongnuo radio trigger I purchased with it.
I have three YN600EX-RT and now got two new RT-II.They work together like a team. Easy control from 5DM3 .ETTL is very accurate as well.I got 4 YN600 for price of one Canon 600EX
I bought 3 of these and used them at a recent wedding (wirelessly triggering 2 as a slave and 1 as a master). I am OBSESSED. They work flawlessly and are so easy once you understand the buttons. Highly recommend.
Works great with my Canon SL2, but Canon has remove 1 contact on the flash shoe of the new SL3. It does not work on SL3. My Canon flashes work great with my SL3. I do not know if this affects the use of this flash on other Canon cameras, but make sure it well work on you camera before purchasing.
Once you use it a few times, and get how you want it to work its a good light source for your shots.
Affordable, easy to use with my Canon 70D.
Flash itself has been okay but after maybe 5 uses in 6 months, the wide-angle diffuser seems to have broken and disappeared into the flash body. Trying to fish it out just let it slip it deeper inside. The manufacturer website says theres a 1 year warranty if purchased from them directly.
