The Yamaha RX-V485 is a great way to go if you like the idea of wireless surround speakers and don’t mind using 5.1-channels – but, if you need Google Cast or more channels, there are other options in the price range.
Lots of smart features, Good sound quality, Easy to use, Wireless surround
Missing Google Cast support, Limited to 5.1 channels
I am happy with the sound. I am interested in a "home stereo" application, so I can't say much about the surround sound aspect. It was fairly painless to setup, except to connect to my wireless network I had to use my tv and the supplied remote to view the setup menu.
Sound optimization feature.
Required a tv to complete setup.
I purchased this surround sound receiver to replace a much older - and heavier - Yamaha receiver.I wanted the newer options provided on the RX-V485, especially the Wi-Fi capabilities. Very satisfied!
This receiver exceeded my expectations for such a low price. Bluetooth capability is a nice feature. Setup is pretty easy IF you download the full owner's manual. The sound is great. I really like the sound field effects.
Excellent receiver. The wi-fi and Bluetooth capabilities are awesome.
Good power and capabilities
Sometimes difficult wireless setup!
Does what it says. Haven't completed set up though.
Really set off my surround sound system off nicely. Perfect buy
Very nice. I replaced an older Yamaha receiver with this one. Got more capability (wi-fi and bluetooth) than the old one for $200 less than I paid 10 years ago.
Sounds great, easy to setup and use, nice features/pre-sets, great remote. Overall, a great value for the price. I love having bluetooth capability. The other feature I like is when you change the inout, the receiver remembers the last setting you used for that input.
I bought the RX-V485 because it supports wireless rear speakers - our new house has hardwood floors which don't lend themselves to long cable runs. It replaces a Yamaha RX V1087 (which doesn't) so is much "lower down" the Yamaha range so I was expecting a corresponding drop in quality, but have been...
Really happy with my Amp as a beginner to the music system world it’s been a great start. The amp was easy to set up. Looking forward to building my system
