When you shop for home theatre systems, you might find that the process is similar to shopping for a car. There are certain classes of vehicles which are good for some people and likewise, there are speaker systems that fall in different categories.
These speakers are marginally better than my 15 year old Sony speakers (SS-V230 & SS-CN230). I was using the Sony speakers with the Yamaha receive TSR-5790 that I bought 7 months ago. I was not happy with the sound.
The Yamaha NSSP1800BL 5.1- Channel Speaker Package is a great value for the money. I'm very pleased with sound quality. I'm surprise how easy it was to set-up . I definitely would recommend this system to anyone looking for a great speaker system.
This system has great sound quality. When I originally purchased it, I expected it to be average at best because of how inexpensive it is. However, my assumption was wrong. Best $135 I have ever spent on speakers.
Matched these up with a YAMAHA HTR-5063 7.1-Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver and re-used somy old sony sterio floor speakers for the front. IT's great!

Sound great! Has improved my HT 1000%. The speakers look good too.
