This section is N/A. This was a gift for my young son's 3rd birthday. He opened the box, but never used the headphones - neither did I.
As somebody who wants to learn piano, I started out looking at proper weighted hammer action keyboards, but for that I'd have to spend about double what the NPV80 costs. I also wanted something with USB MIDI output for computer use, and many cheaper models don't give you that.
A decent piano sound is the number one thing I wanted and it turns out the NPV80 has one. I did find out after playing quite some time that if you hit the keys hard on the Grand Piano setting it sounded a little weird, almost as if the pitch was off.
The Yamaha NPV80 Digital Portable Piano is brilliant for beginners like me. It's light and easy to move around so it doesn't take up a huge amount of space. It's simple to use and has an abundance of different features, many of which I haven't even discovered yet!
I bought this for my daughter who is starting to learn the piano. I also looked at the cheaper Yamaha NP-30 piano. I played both before buying this one in a local music store. This model offers a lot more feature than the NP-30 for a relatively small increase in price.
This is not a toy! It is an enhanced Piaggero with high quality light piano touch and voice. The orchestral functions are impressive for a keyboard in this price range including guitars, brass, woodwind, string and percussive features.
A really well built keyboard with excellent sound quality and other options that make it near perfect for beginners. The built in tutor would have been a major selling point had the screen been alittle larger but its small size does lessen its usefulness.
All I can say- wow! This is our first proper keyboard, having progressed from a cheaper £100 yamaha, and I can honestly say that the jump up is amazing. This has more features than I will ever need, but the keyboard has such a great feel about it. It feels like a proper keyboard- a proper piano.
This is a fantastic piece of kit. For once it is an item of electrical equipment that really is "simply plug in and play". It is a robust and handsome keyboard that sits nicely on a table and has a sustain pedal, not to mention a headphone facility - all the better to practise without disturbing the...
This is an unbelievably brilliant keyboard at a very sensible price. For a near beginner, which is how I descibe myself,it is insurpassable. The instruction are relatively easy to follow especially after a few sessions.
