Comprised by an 8 inch cone woofer and 1 inch dome tweeter, the Yamaha HS8 studio monitor offers a bi-amplified driver and ported enclosures that offer up an honest, untampered sound.

Clear as crystal. I use them with a Kemper. Awesome! I listened to the comparable jbl and it wasn't close for me. Jbl had more bass but to the point they almost seemed unbalanced with bass. High gain to warm cleans....these are great! Just one guitar player's opinion.

These monitors are wonderfully authentic at all volumes and frequencies. All instruments and voices are accurate when pleasure listening at a faint whisper and when listening for imperfections at volume. These are great for editing or for pleasure.

I purchased these a while back and have not been disappointed in any way. They have one of the best flat responses around, my mixes sound almost the same on any type of audio system. Response to a remark below.

Great sound, construction, and price for home studio reference monitors. I am really happy with my purchase.

Wow I really love these new monitors, I can hear details I've never heard before in my mixes! Well done Yamaha for making these wonderful monitors and Sweetwater for your great sales help!

I have been using the HS5's for a while and upgraded to the 8's. They do sound much better.

I've been mixing for 20 years and I've had these speakers for 3 years and I've never had such a hard time getting mixes to translate. No bueno. Midrange is incredible inaccurate.

These monitors are clearly the best choice for any home studio! They are ultra flat, articulate, and in my opinion give a true representation of my recordings. I wanted to not only review these but, offer a comparison for my fellow audiophiles. There were two brands I put head to head.

Previously, I had a pair of M-Audio 8" monitors. While they were great for casual listening in addition to mixing and mastering, these HS8 units are awesome. IMHO, the HS8s are all business because as far as I can tell there is no coloring of sound at all.
