I replaced my RX V3900 which up until now served me well. However, with 4K and especially ARC it was time to update. So far I am not disappointed with the sound or features. I do miss the on screen volume info. The also removed the AC outlets on the rear of the unit. Neither are a deal breaker.
Audiophile quality sound, Has 4K up scaling, Passes HDR content, Yamaha App works great
Expensive, No longer has on screen volume visual, Remote is not back lit
Best receiver so far. Not disappointed. Cleanest sound with no distortion. Am still not at 9.2 but getting there and very excited. Im going all in with yamaha and recomend it 100%.
Excellent video circuitry, nice 9 channel sound field, but really weak amplifier section. I had an Onkyo rated less watts that never had any trouble, but this receiver cannot push any volume. I had to purchase a separate power amplifier to listen when I wanted any level of volume.
Arrived DOA. Was able to use the front panel to update the firmware but other than that, nothing. Unit would go into preservation mode and shut down. No damage to box and no visible damage to unit.
Great features and excellent sound. Phone app is the best also
Do not know. Unable to set it up.
The Cherry on top of my Home Theater Sunday I had a HK home theater receiver from 12 years ago that died. Over the last year, I first upgraded my speakers, then bought a new Sony BD player last month, and this month I got this Yamaha receiver at a great model year end close out price.
This is a full featured receiver with a lot to commend it. Everything has worked well, even the iPhone App. But recently a problem cropped up, the BlueTooth function stopped working on some, but not all, inputs. I've tried everything I can think of.
I just got this amp today. The 2060 model. It is replacing an onkyo tx-sr806. This is so much better. Clean, clear and crisp. Great audio separation. Even the video looks much better. Somehow, my blacks are deeper with this new receiver. It's been running all afternoon and is staying nice and cool.
This is my forth Yamah AV receiver and every one has problems connecting to the internet. I have a powerful wireless network and every other device I have connects easliy, but not anything with a Yamaha label on it. Usually a firmware update solves the problem, but not with the 2060.
