Whirlpool freezer replacement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought and ordered this 20 cu foot whirlpool upright freezer as a replacement for my old whirlpool freezer that quit working in the middle of July 2020. After many manufacturers delays due to the pandemic the freezer was delivered November 9 2021. I wanted a larger upright freezer with temperature alarm so I would not have a big mess of spoiled food to deal with like before. Because I am older I wanted a freezer with an open handle I could get a good grip on to open easily. The door baskets are adjustable as are the inside shelves. And of course the freezer is self defrosting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is reassuring that there is an alarm system built in so, if the unit stops working, I will be aware of the problem before my food can thaw and spoil. The racks on the door that hold flat boxes is not big enough to hold 3 pizzas deep or wide. The most I can get in is 5 and those are really tight. Also, when the unit is filled the lighting leave a lot to be desired. The "cheese and butter" keeper on the door is rather unusual and not very practical. I had space left over due to odd size and need to get the clear lid closed when filled. I really like the shallow wire basket as it is very versatile.

bought this in 2020, delivered 2021, problems began 10 months after delivery. tech said issue was a factory issue. 6 tech visits and it is declared non-repairable. issue began under factory warranty, but timeline went into extended warranty. AIG extended warranty offered 75% of purchase price doesn't include lost food as the freezer died 2x. Whirlpool washed hands of issue. no-one willing to help. last freezer lasted 38 years with no issues. quality of appliance is poor. not buying anymore whirlpool products if i can help it!

A Roomy Freezer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this freezer to supplement a small, very old chest freezer. The chest freezer stays full and works great but it's inconvenient to dig through even with items sorted in baskets plus its age is worrisome.
This new Whirlpool freezer is well lit inside with ample shelving, baskets and door storage and everything inside is easily visible. If the chest freezer quits I have enough room to transfer the contents to this freezer.
It is 30 inches deep and was a tight fit through my 32 inch exterior door.
A small scratch on the door was the result of the appliance dolly slipping on the way through.

Bought this to replace chest type.
Have bought Whirlpool all my life. Have had excellent results with their products. Chest freezer I replaced was 45 years old whirlpool & never did anything but put food in & take out. Still works great. Biggest problem was buying ahead & losing track of food & it freezer burning. Plan on new freezer being able to keep track of food. Keep it used in timelier manner. Will sure enjoy self defrost feature also. Appliance dealer I have purchased from for many years is planning to retire soon & sure will miss his excellent service these past years. Luckily I have needed very little service. Purchasing excellent products is main reason for this.

Lacks cooling cools
Even on the lowest setting, my ice cream is melting. I thought the freezer was working the first couple of weeks, but it turns out that the temperature in my garage was so cold (50F), it was helping it getting by. Now that the outside temp is up to about 70F, It simply isn't working as a freezer.This freezer is bad by design. It completely lacks a condenser coil (the part that dissipates heat - see pic where one condenser line runs out and back under the fridge with no coil). The compressor has been running non-stop and is so hot to the touch that it is heating up the metal above to scolding temps. Even the factory insulation melted off the condenser line. Do not even think about buying this freezer. Absolute garbage. And the so called Temperature Alarm, does not exist or does not work, because the temp is maybe 30F inside (a jug of water at the bottom is barely frozen) and no alarm has gone off.

Great freezer - abysmal ice maker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The freezer is great! Spacious. Keeps stuff frozen. Great door bins! BUT - I chose this model specifically because it is ice maker compatible. I waited an extra month to get the freezer because the ice maker was on back order. Finally got it and the tech installed it. The ice maker does not work. At all. The tech ordered a replacement, telling me it would be here 03 June. It was not. Now, they are saying 04 July. I purchased this freezer 2 months ago and still no ice. I do not understand what is so difficult about getting a functioning ice maker in a freezer.

We have owned this frig for a little less than a year (I think). I don't think my review will win me anything, but here it is. My momma always told me to give commendation first. It is a very pretty frig. However, I don't care for the sensitivity of stainless steel. My biggest complaint would be how hard it is to remove the drawers for cleaning, almost impossible. Also the way the drawers are designed, food gets in under the plastic and can't get it out for cleaning. I think you should have a couple of ordinary housewives (term is probably politically incorrect) on your design team!
