Not happy!! from
Don't buy!!!
I am now on my second model of this frig. Our cabinets were built around this unit so I am stuck with something equivalent to this size. I discovered the death of the first frig when we returned from a trip to Disney.... lost everything!!! My current one started leaking out the front. Found the drain line was stopped up... fixed that. But now it fluctuates in temperature so much I am losing contents. I do not want to go back with the same brand. I know this is a whirlpool site but does anyone have a suggestion of a different brand? It is ridiculous to have to replace this unit every 4 years!!! Who can afford to do that?????

Shiny Piece of JUNK
I bought this Sidekick refrigerator and matching freezer for our new home on 04/2014. Place in to service on 09/2014. I am now in the midst of my 3rd service call(11/30/2015). Thank god I purchased the extended warranty through Whirlpool.But, that is proving to be junk as well.Factor in that the food loss coverage of $250 is over the life of the warranty, not per event. Each time I am without a refrigerator for 2 - 3 weeks while parts are ordered. I lose time at work to meet the service people. This is the most basic refrigerator there is. No features or bells and whistles and it won't cool.Not to mention we have cabinets built around this unit.Worst purchase ever.

POOR QUALITY, WORSE SERVICE !
Bought the sidekick refrigerator & freezer about 5 years ago. Like many other reviewers, the refrigerator stopped working and cannot be repaired. Looking at the responses to the reviews by Whirlpool, they would indicate that Whirlpool, is concerned about the quality and reputation of their products and would take responsibility for them. Unfortunately, don't waste your time contacting them. Your will sit on hold for an eternity and then be told that the product is out of warranty and you are on your own. This product has quality problems as evidenced by over half the reviews being negative. However, the company does not seem to care.

not even 2 years old - no longer works
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this refrigerator was put in to a newly constructed home. I have been in the home for 1 year and a few months. The refrigerator has a leak in the sealed system and no longer works. I purchased the extended warranty and they can't get anyone to come out to work on it (Butane coolant). I have been without a refrigerator for over four weeks. I live 50 minutes from Whirlpool. That makes no sense! For resolution, they offered to pay me half for the unit and than void my warranty which wasn't cheap either. Why can't they find someone to fix it? why can't they just replace the unit?

One good, one not so good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We ordered 2 of these. The first one we unpacked and plugged in. All looked and sounded good.
The 2nd one not so good. The seal on the door is all messed up and when we plugged it in it has a clicking noise. You would think that someone would have noticed this noise when they plugged it in to make sure it did work. You would also think they wouldn't ship a freezer with a seal that looks like this in the pic I attached. I can't attach video of clicking sound cause I didn't add it to you tube. It reminds me a card being stuck in a bike wheel making a clicking noise as it turns.

Terrible Product
Let me start out with the fact that my first sidekick set lasted me almost 18 years with only 2 or 3 problems in all that time, so when it finally came time to replace set I naturally went with the same thing. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE!!!! I've only had them for about 3 years and have had to have repair man here at least 4 times for the fridge. I am so disappointed now that I am getting rid of both and going with something else. I was so pleased with the first set and so sad with the second set. I don't understand why Whirlpool had to fix a product that wasn't broken in the first place,

Fridge stopped cooling after only 2 years
We bought the fridge/freezer combo through our homebuilder. The fridge stopped cooling after 2 years, causing the alarm in the fridge to go off repeatedly. We hired repairmen to look at the issue. They said the fridge is leaking freon and cannot locate where the leaking is taking place. Although they added more freon they warned us we may have to replace the fridge. We are very disappointed that we spent so much money on a fridge only to have it fail with only 2 years of gentle use. The freezer is fine. We have a Haier fridge that we've used for 20 years and has never broke down. The quality of this Sidekick fridge is subpar!

Same problem!
Beautiful set. Focal point in kitchen everyone remarks about it! Refrigerator stopped cooling properly, Coolant leaked out, evaporator doesn't work and compressor needs to be replaced. $1600.00 to repair. We have to do it, they don't make them the same size any longer and freezer is working fine and there is a whole to fill in the kitchen. I think we should get MORE than 5 1/2 years out of a refrigerator. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
