Ice build-up on top freeze
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Whirlpool refrigerator for five months, and I should have reported this problem months ago. There is always a build-up of ice in the top freezer. I do not open the door often, and I never leave it open very long. An appliance technician took a look at this on May 28, 2020, and said that it is common with the new refrigerators. This is terrible! My 24-year-old Amana refrigerator never had this problem. I wanted to update my "old white" frig for a new stainless steel. I was not having problems with my 24-year-old Amana. I am NOT HAPPY with the ice build-up. PLEASE HELP. What can be done?

Poor quality for a Whirlpool product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Basic refrigerator and no frills which I knew going into the purchase. I did not expect the craftsmanship to be as poor as it is. All of my home appliances are whirlpool and this is the first one I am disappointed with. Multiple areas that should have caps are left without showing exposed cut raw metal, styrofoam, and insulation. Protective plastic wrap that covers the stainless steel during manufacturing and transportation is trapped between edges and looks poor. Also several tiny holes throughout the inside walls with tiny insulation foam poking out and silicone clumps in edges.
Functional it works fine but cosmetically it’s a mess.

Perfect size and no protruding handles
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I marked performance and quality down only because we had to return the first refrigerator because the freezer wasn't freezing food solid and yet food on the top shelf of the refrigerator was totally freezing. We were hesitant to try again, but it was the perfect size and had no protruding handles. I loved the 3 drawers in the refrigerator and the shelf in the freezer. The next refrigerator has been perfect! The freezer works great and the refrigerator holds a constant temperature. My only concern is that the glass shelves seem thin so I've been afraid they will break with too much weight, but so far there's been no problem.

Good refigerator but needs adjustments.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted a new refrigerator because our previous one was 20 years old. We bought this (no ice maker like our previous one) to keep the initial cost lower. At the store, it was not plugged in, so we didn't know until we got it home that there's no light in the freezer section. The meat drawer is also very small. There's no separate setting for the freezer, just one for the whole appliance. The recommended cooling setting froze our eggs, which are stored on the bottom shelf. We turned down the cooling setting and several eggs still froze. Compared to what we previously had, it feels like a downgrade.

Worst Ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is too small, the seal in the lower compartment does not line up and seal the door. The freezer door drags on the freezer compartment and is difficult to close. The refrigerator is running on it's lowest possible setting and to date I have tossed out lettuce, over a dozen eggs, fresh mushrooms and whole tomatoes, potatoes and onions because it freezes in the lower compartment. I opened the door last week to falling snow, apparently from the condensation buildup in the top since the door doesn't seal. No one is attempting to resolve my issues at whirlpool. Very dissatisfied with this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this less than a week ago to replace the one the same model I bought the end of July 2019.....which had varies problems...that one I bought to replace the Whirlpool’ I bought in Sept 2017...which had factory defects which were not discovered until the warrant was over...I may be a fool to keep purchasing Whirlpool but am hoping this one which was replaced free of any charge will keep me happy for several years. I am 76 ..live alone so it’s not like it gets abused . Don’t have much faith in Whirlpool at this time. Can’t really give an accurate rating at this time...ask me in 2 years..right now the last two Whirlpool’s I have had were awful...poor workmanship and have cost me a lot.

Lot's of Storage Space and Features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great storage space for a 28" wide refrigerator. Fits perfect for smaller condo kitchens. Small bottles can store in the rack on the bottom of the door. Freezer and produce drawer have temperature control mechanisms. Much quieter than my old hotpoint. Didn't need the icemaker. Front of door Not True Stainless Steel? Magnets
should not stick to stainless steel, but they do on this door. Shelf locking design could be better. It can slide out when empty. But when heavy items are put on the shelves it does not slide out. So far very pleased with product. Will see if the front door will rust?

Needs reconfiguration!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not like the 4 adjustable door shelves-loss of space & couldn’t get into the lower one if I used the top for taller items. The lowest door shelf was too narrow to be the bottom shelf. Had to stoop so low to get to it and I tended to forget what is in it when the wider shelf above overshadowing the narrow shelf. Also, I prefer to view the hydrate storage bins’ adjustable cooling slides on the top not below the front handle area. The adjustable slides were not marked. You had to look down to view the open & closed slot of the bin. I exchanged the model for a different refrigerator.
