Worst Dishwasher Ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this dishwasher one year ago. In December, it stopped drying our dishes. No matter what setting it was on. Then I noticed that the water was not getting hot. I looked down and the heating element was completely rusted through!! BROKEN! There was rust in multiple spots. There is a hole in the floor where the heating element broke. My husband changed the element and tried to repair the hole. That did not fix the issue. He changed the thermostat. Still didn't fix the issue. This is pure garbage. I want nothing more than to get a new one but dishwashers are so expensive.

Works fine but manual filter and needs rinse aid.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dishwasher a couple weeks ago and it seems to work just fine so far. It's a cheap model and it does okay cleaning everything, though I didn't realize that it had a manual filter that needs to be rinsed out on occasion. I have not had to do this yet, so I can't speak for the ease of cleaning the filter. I also did not realize that the dishwasher needs a rinse aid to help dry the dishes fully and keep them clean looking. It doesn't seem to be a problem, though out of caution, I do rinse the cups again. If I don't rinse the cups, then there tends to be some small bubbles when I fill the cups with water.

Good solid quiet machine.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this product to replace our very reliable Kitcheaide which Ed died of old age (13 years). I was concerned that it might be noisier than the Kitchenaide, which was pleasantly quiet. The new Whirlpool is very quiet, not any noticeable difference from the old one. It does an excellent job washing, but it’s a long cycle, especially with extended dry included. We read reviews that complain about drying. The only thing we notice is puddles on top of mugs etc. that have a depressed bottom. It’s about the same as others we’ve had. We’ve only had it a few weeks but are very satisfied so far.

Great product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After dealing with a leaky electrolux dishwasher that didn't know when it wanted to work for months, it was time for an update. I'm so happy we chose the whirlpool! The dishes always come out clean, the sanitizing rinse option is a great touch and is used very often when the kids are sick. There is ample room in the machine and it gets the job done, so far there have been no issues with it at all! I wish it would have an additional small top rack for baby bottle nipples and lids like many newer ones have but that's just personal preference. Overall it gets the job done with zero issues so far.

Doesn't get dishes dry
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even on the highest heat setting, the tops of glasses and bowls are invariably wet with puddles of soapy water.
Also, the dishwasher is more noisy than most other brands. And there is no indicator to show where it is in the cycle. You just have to guess.
Then there is the warranty issue. Whirlpool only allows warranty work through its selected contractors. I live in a large metropolitan area. Whirlpool has only ONE contractor for a huge populated area, so they don't schedule repairs any time soon. But at least Whirlpool's custormer service people are always very sorry for the inconvenience.

Replacement dishwasher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to have the first one replaced. Took about 5 months with several repair visits and many phone calls. Had to supervise the cycles constantly. A real hassle. Suds built up in the bottom and leaked out the front door. Seemed to happen during the rinse cycle, but not sure. No matter the solutions that were offered, nothing changed. Inside is much smaller than normal dishwashers. Remains fairly wet inside at completion. Not too noisy. Does seem to clean the dishes well. Rinse dispenser is hard to fill and not easy to see. Don't use the Cascade that is recommended. Use Finish.

Did not come, like old days, with proper connections to connect to water inlet, drain hose to connect properly from machine to sink drain. Drain connect is near and faces to the front of the machine. I had to visit a few hardware stores to find a 90 degree of a180 degree to have the drain hose go to the back of the machine. If I had just hooked up the drain hose it would have come out of the front of the machine. 10 years ago dishwashers came with all you needed, installed in 30 minutes. This time it took 2 of us from 6pm to midnight. BUT IT WORKS GREAT

Great Buy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to replace a 16-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher that was already in home that I purchased 5.5-years ago. I was hesitant about the 55 dBA noise level as the sales person tried to sell me a much quieter one for a lot more money. I contacted Whirlpool and they gave me the information on the old dishwasher and its dBA was also 55. I had NO problem with the noise level of the old one, so purchasing the less expensive 55 dBA dishwasher was a no brainer! Design attributes are different, but looks nice, runs nicely, fits well with kitchen decor! Great purchase!
