A few improvements would make this 5 stars
I've owned this smoker for over 10 years and I absolutely love it. Very easy to hold temperature for long cooks and it's very durable (10+ years in the elements and no rust). There are 2 issues that need resolved: 1) the thermometer is of marginal quality. It is not sealed so it allows water ingress (I have replaced it 3x before I added a tel-tru thermometer). 2) The stock aluminum fire door is flimsy and allows too much heat to escape. I replaced my door with a stainless upgrade from Cajun Bandit. The difference in efficiency is night and day. Upgrade these parts and you'll have yourself a very solid piece of cooking hardware.

Excellent Smoker!
I've used Weber products for several years and had no idea they made smokers. I stumbled upon an online video of the Weber Smokey Mountain and was extremely impressed and knew that I had to have one. This smoker is FANTASTIC and I'm so glad that I bought it. I cooked the best brisket that I've ever had on it and can't wait to try some ribs. I would recommend this smoker to anyone looking to do some slow cooking. I did opt for the larger 22 inch model but all 3 sizes are very nice. I have 7 grills and 6 of them are Weber and I won't be using any other brand.

Great Smoker - Bad Customer Service
The smokey mountain is great however, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. As an owner of multiple Weber products (my grill was my latest and last purchase of weber) who actually takes the time to register their purchases I expected to be treated a little bit better when I unknowingly made a purchase through an "unauthorized" dealer. Buyer BEWARE who you are purchasing from. This product is fantastic but there is NO distinction between an authorized and unauthorized dealer. Do not chance your warranty on such a high dollar item. I certainly would not have if I thought a brand new item could be sold and shipped from someone who is "unauthorized".

Set it and Forget it
I bought this after many years of "smoking" on my gas weber summit. This is a set it and forget it kinda smoker compared to the summit ! My second cook on here was a 11 lb brisket after trimming. I filled the basket, got it dialed in between 225 - 250, put the brisket on and came back 10 hours later. My brisket was beautiful and 198 in the center. I pulled it, wrapped it and let it sit for a few hours in a cooler till I carved it. Absolutely melt in your mouth delicious. I suggest watching T-roy on UTube for anyone just starting out with the Smokey Mountain Cooker. Great tips, that guy should get paid by Weber for his insight.

Great smoker with one design flaw.
If you are only going to have one smoker, this is the one. It is very versatile and can handle anything you put on it. The only design flaw is that the lid fits INSIDE the body instead of like the Weber Kettle where the lid fits on the outside. This is a problem because if it happens to get rained on, all that water collects in the bottom of the smoker. I really do hope that Weber changes this in future designs. Otherwise, this smoker would get 5 stars. I would also buy a brand new one without even thinking about it.

Regular Weber user - I really expected better...
I'm giving two stars because at least support has been good. But I expect more from Weber, given the price I generally pay for it. Both the center ring and lid of my Smokey Mountain Cooker managed to warp after exactly one cook - a smoked turkey. Low temp cook (315° max), and the center ring and lid no longer fit together. I'm not sure exactly how that happened. The door feels cheap and doesn't fit great either, but that's the least of my concerns at this point. Support has replaced both the center ring and the lid, but I have been leery of using it, so I don't know how the replacements function yet. So overall I'm really disappointed.

Great All-Around Smoker
I was researching pellet smokers and started seeing the Smokey Mountain Cooker mentioned more and more. So I started researching and when I learned that quite a few champion smokers used Weber Smokey Mountain Cookers I was hooked. Much less expensive, more portable, and no moving parts or electrical boards to replace. I bought one for Thanksgiving 2018, tested it on some chicken, then smoked the turkey to a lot of compliments from the family. Used it several times since. Have a brisket on right at this moment. I am amazed how well it maintains the temp once its set. I could not be more satisfied with my purchase.

Weber Smokey mountain 22 revuew
I bought the grill about one month ago. I already had a Treager 34 but the Treager doesn't give a very good smoke ring without using additional pellet tubes for assistance.
So far, I have smoked 1 brisket and two pork butts on the Weber and love the difference in temperature control, smoke ring on the meat and flavor.
I also added a DigiQ controller that works fantastic with the Weber grill and I see no variation when I set the temperature as compared to a 3 to 5 degree plus or minus difference of that on the Treager.
I love the Weber!
I am handicapped with limited mobility but this grill makes grilling easy for me with the least amount of
effort/assistance.
