The WD My Passport Ultra Metal Edition 2TB retails for RM 389 while the 1TB version retails for RM 259. The Anniversary Edition retails for RM 399 and RM 269 for 2TB and 1TB variants respectively.
for the price and the premium finish it has on the outside I would definetly buy another one if required. The option to encrypt your data is always welcome in case you loose it.

short usb cable
I keep all my data an internal separate hard drive on my PC. I need an external hard drive for portable storage. The WD Passport is ideal for this purpose . I just plugged in the USB cable and copied and paste. It initially took some time for nearly 300 mgs to download. This operation was flawless.
I unfortunately never bought a hard drive to backup my computer with until it crashed. lesson learned. This particular brand is 2TB so I know that it has the capabilities to hold all of my music and documents. It's so easy to set up, it's small and compact as well.
The metal is on the top & bottom but not the sides, still it was priced right.

Full Disclosure: I don't use the included software. I archive it and then use the drive for my own backups using Acronis True Image. It's fast for my purpose and very reliable.

The menu features make this one of the easier backup solutions available. Needed it for the last backup prior to migrating to 10 Started it up and let it go (for 12 hours).
I bought this item to serve as a backup to another My Passport portable hard drive. From what I have experienced so far, this will serve my needs well.
Totally worth the money.

Easy, no external power required. Plugged it into a mac and enabled time machine, and awaaaay we go.

The unit is chunkier than the sleek 500gb models, but for the extra space it's totally worth it.
Works right out of the box and looks great! I only give it 4 stars due to lack of a pouch or protective cover.
After being a diehard Seagate fan for many years, I decided to try the WD 1 TB Silver My Passport Ultra Metal edition thinking it might be more durable for when I travel in a few months. I've had the drive for approx. 2 months and keep it in a padded case.
Compact USB 3.0 drive. Works well as central storage on my wireless router.
