I am a birder who frequently takes others out to see birds, and I do not have unlimited resources to support my birding and photography. After reading the reviews here and at other online sites, I decided to go with the Vortex Razor HD scope.
Bought from OP in December 2015 after a three-year search and comparison. As a frequent birder, all the way want a no-fancy spotting scope of 80-82mm diameter yet not too pricey. I've had my Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85 angled spotting scope for a few months already and cannot be more pleased with the quality and ease of use. First, the optics are brite, clear, super resolution, bringing distant birds into sharp focus.
I was torn between buying this scope and the Celestron 100mm FD Regal so I bought both. The Vortex has been highly regarded and cost more than 2 times the price of the Celestron so I was expecting its performance to be significantly better than the Vortex.In a nutshell I was extremely disappointed...
