Bought both the Vortex Diamondback and Nikon Monarch 5 for travel. The contrast and sharpness are very comparable with Nikon a tag better. My husband likes the Vortex better as it fits his bigger hand and provides a wider field.

I purchased th 12x50 Razor HD. The Glass is excellent and they are very comfortable to use. I have used them duriing this elk muzzle loader hunt nov 1-9 Utah high mountians and love them. You get what you pay for these are worth the money...
Excellent product I use binoculars for birding and have tried a variety of models in the inexpensive-to-intermediate price range ($100-300). I strongly prefer the Vortex Diamondback 8x42 Binocular over the others. First, the optics are sharp and remarkably bright in low light.

I wanted to upgrade from my EO Denali, so I paid a visit to the Eagle Optics store and asked to try the EO Ranger ED, EO Golden Eagle HD, and the Swarovski EL (the last one only to check the gold standard in binoculars, I had no intention to purchase something that expensive).

Big difference in clarity over cheap 40 dollar binoculars. Very clear. I might go as far as to say that if you're not going to use a tripod that clearer glass isn't needed. Tough well built, I can't expect more binocular for the money.

These are wonderful bins for the price. Very comfortable, not too heavy. Focus both day and night is very good.

High quality, easy operating. Heavier than cheap binoculars, but worth it for image quality. They were recommended to me by my ornithologist son.

I went back and forth between the 8x and 10x for bird watching in wooded areas. Based on what I read online, I went with the 8, and I've been super impressed with how well you can see with these. I've been able to ID birds from really far away.
