all in all this is a good humidifier
I have to use a humidifier for health reasons and have used these for years. I am so glad that you went back to this design. This is easier to fill and the tanks don't leak. I've had the smaller version of this and this size and them have lasted for years. I didn't like the change you made to the humidifier a few years ago. Those tanks would leak and make a mess. I actually went to another type of humidifier, I was really happy to see that you went back to this design! Being unable to clean the propellers of the fan is a problem. They tend to get very dusty. I also recommend using an additive to the water so it doesn't grow algae or bacteria.

Wonderful Purchase
I use this humidifier to cut down on the dryness in my nasal passages and sinuses in the winter. THis is my first humidifier and I LOVE IT. It is easy to fill and manage from faucet to bedroom. The low setting is perfect for nighttime sleep and provides even a nice white noise effect which is soothing. I love the sound of the water being gently released into the unit bit by bit. I haven't formally cleaned it yet, but I anticipate no problem. It took me a long time to agree to purchase a humidifier. this name and model was suggested to me by a friend and it's one of the best suggestions anyone has ever made to me. Really a good buy!!!

I replaced my ultrasonic humidifier with this one. The ultrasonics require constant cleaning of hard water deposits and everything around them gets covered in a white dust. not sure what that's all about. I've been using the evap40 vortex for several weeks and I'm very happy with it. It holds a ton of water and all the hard water deposits are centralized in the 2 filters. The filters can be cleaned in a vinegar water soak, just don't wring them out or they'll tear up. It runs very quiet in the bedroom with the only objectionable sound is the gulping noise when water leaves the tanks to fill the bottom of the unit, hence my 4 star rating instead of 5.

Reliable
I bought the Evap40 about 2 weeks ago and it has been going steady ever since it arrived with the exception of a couple of rainy days when I didn’t need it. It reliably keeps my hydrostat at a constant 64% where I want it. I keep it on low fan speed and medium moisture and it is perfect. The air is cool that comes from the unit. I am a very light sleeper and have never been disturbed by the fan noise or gurgling of the tanks. I’d even go as far to say that I sleep more comfortably therefore soundly with the humidified air. I do use a bacteriostatic/water treatment because it takes a few days to go through one tank of water.

Does the Job Intended
I had the previous model which finally gave up the ghost. This model designation seems to be just a change as the parts are interchangeable, so you need not throw out filters, water tanks, etc. if you have the older model. I wanted a unit that wasn't ultra-sonic and would provide humidification for several days without the need for a refill. The unit is quiet even at the highest fan speed. The humidistat is a bonus. I've had a number of Vornado products over the years and each has worked well out of the box and reliably over many years.

Excellent design.
I bought this humidifier as a replacement for a previous Vornado humidifier of the same design. The motor on the old one gave out, and I decided to purchase the same model as a replacement because I've been so impressed with the thoughtful design and ease of maintenance of this model. I've owned a whole procession of unsatisfactory humidifiers of different designs, so I appreciate the fact that this model is easy to clean and the water tanks are easy to slip into position: they essentially seat themselves. It's easy to check the condition of the filters to see when they need to be changed. The unit makes almost no noise when set at low fan speed.

love this humidifier!
I have had this humidifier so long I can't even remember exactly when I bought it. It has to be at least ten years ago. It is great function and simplicity. It humidifies well and its' simple design makes it easy to use and care for. The 2 large tanks keep you from having to refill too often. I actually like the filters. It makes it feel clean and fresh. Someone complained about them but even though I have hard water and have to replace them a little more often I don't mind. It has been durable and I don't have to think about it I just get it out every year, easy peasy. A few years ago I thought this model was gone but here it is again and I'm so glad it's back! I will probably buy another to have two. It's the best.

The best humidifier!
I love this unit, built strong, quiet fan, easy to operate and clean, and the two large tanks last for 2-3 days without having to be refilled. So great!! Especially great for keeping at my senior mother's home, so I don't have to refill it every day and the water lasts between visits!
This style unit by Vornado is the only humidifier I will buy. I owned two with just a single tank on one side (now discontinued) - and thank god they still make this double tank unit!! It is great for larger areas and maintains the right amount of humidity in super dry climates like Colorado. This is the best quality humidifier you can buy that is very low maintenance too! I pray Vornado always continues to make this exact unit!!
