The Velbon Sherpa 200R rises up to 1.67m and has a built in three-way pan-and-tilt head with quick-release platform. The head is really impressive and has a one-handle operation that controls the locking of pan-and-tilt with one twist. The Sherpa 200R weighs 3.5kg and offers decent value for money.
It's the only tripod I've ever had but I'm thoroughly pleased. I guessed that the very inexpensive tripods would be less awesome. I don't know but my Canon 3ti sits very securely. The clamps for the telescoping legs seem appropriately engineered, not too flimsy, not overkill. Rubber feet are great.
Good Stability, Unfolds Quickly
I rounded up because I couldn't give it 3.5 stars. It's a pretty decent tripod for still shots that I managed to get at a rather good price. It's just a very standard tripod, without the bells and whistles and snakey, bendy, swivel action of more advanced and expensive models.
