With the Lee Filters Big Stopper attached I was shooting at lengthy durations of up to two minutes. This one on Baslow Edge was 117 sec at f/9.0 and shows the tripod has held the camera steady. The Olympus 9-18mm zoom was set at 9mm on the OM-D and ISO 200.
I desired a sturdy tripod for those time I would be working close to my car or home and did not need a lightweight tripod. I was looking for something that would set up quick and simple. This fit the bill perfectly it is flexible in the many positions that it can be set to.
Good Stability, Unfolds Quickly
This tripod works great for photographing papers, documents, books, objects, etc. where you shoot straight down at the object. It is so much easier than taping something to a wall or surface or trying to hold the object up and shooting parallel to the ground.Of course you can use it for almost most...
Affordable, Many Uses
No Quick Mount
I purchased this tripod about a month ago and have taken it on several photowalks through some major cities (Atlanta, New York, San Francisco). This tripod lends itself well to this kind of use. It is extremely sturdy....even with my 5DM2 on it.
Extremely sturdy, versatile, and easy to set up in a hurry.
Can be a wee bit on the heavy side if carrying for long lengths of time.
I chose this over the Manfrotto 055xprob, the few reviews that I've found on this tripod gave me ease of mind about buying it. It's a bit lighter than the mafrotto and is also smaller when closed, but it is shorter without the center column extended. I'm 6'1 and find it good height.
High quality, sturdy, and looks and feels very well built. Love the center column, and love the spiked/rubber feet.
Haven't owned it long enough to come up with any, and I hope it stays this way.
works great both in the studio and on location. was really useful when doing a macro project at a nursrey.
Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
