Expert lens reviewer, Gary Wolstenholme tests the Tokina AT-X M100 Pro Macro lens. Will it cope with the demanding lifestyle of a photographer? This 100mm Macro from Tokina cost £348, which is around half of what some manufacturers charge for their telephoto macro lenses.
Good resolution performance, Excellent build quality, Good value for money
Reduced contrast when shooting against strong sources of light, Slow autofocus

Consistent Output, Durable, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Heavy, Slow Focus
I have a Nikon 35mm 1.8G that is very sharp and fast focus for portrait photo. I am anticipating similar sharpness from this lens. but I was very disappointed. the copy of the lens I got is not very sharp thru out all aperture range.
Durable, Strong Construction
Blurry Focus, Poor in Low Light

I use it as often as I can get away with it. For a macro it is all that you need, you don't have to get so close to your subject that you block light or scare it away. For macro the AF of course is useless, but for anything else AF is moderately fast but just fine. Not a sports lens by any means.
Easy to use, tough build, sharp as all get out.
None that I can actually SEE
