I developed a love for fisheyes way back when I was shooting film. In fact, when I took the digital route, the first new lens I bought for my brand-new Canon EOS 5D was a fisheye.

Similar in optical construction to the Pentax 10-17mm lens, this offering from Tokina is well built and feels like it will last. As there is little weight penalty, it is a useful lens for those interested in panographic photography and those with a creative bent.

  • +

Good construction and neat finish, Compact, Wide coverage of 180-100° on APS-C

  • -

Restricted usefulness, Inability to attach filters, No manual over-ride of AF

I use this lens with my D7000. I use it for my Freedive Underwater Photography. It's great for underwater landscape. I don't use any artificial lighting. I don't like the fact that it won't focus in Live Mode... I wish Nikon and Tokina could fix this...

  • +

    Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Strong Construction

  • -

    Poor in Low Light

I shoot surf with this lens and I couldn't of asked for anything more perfect. Although it is well built, the zoom and focus ring seem to shift sometimes with vibrations but for the most part it is a wonderful lens.
