The TAMRON 17-50mm F/4 Di III VXD, for full-frame mirrorless cameras with the Sony E-mount, is a practical lens that covers an ultra-wideangle to standard zoom range. This means that, together with a telephoto zoom, it can cover most subjects.

Some of the OEMs now offer ultra-wide zoom lenses with some coverage into standard focal lengths. In Sony land, the most prominent example is the Sony FE 20-70mm f/4 G. Tamron has picked up the gauntlet by releasing the Tamron 17-50mm f/4 Di III VXD.

Firstly I think the producers should be encouraged to launch new, original constructions on the market. Tamron made such a move and took that risk – praise for them! Secondly, the tested lens performs well in the frame centre no matter what aperture you employ.
