The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD is an ambitious, ultra-wide zoom lens with a fixed f/2.8 aperture and image stabilization, but like most lenses of this type, it shows significant distortion.

Sharp. Optically stabilized. Maximum f/2.8 aperture throughout zoom range. Integrated lens hood. Ultra-wide field of view. Close focus capability. Available for Canon, Nikon, and Sony systems.

Lots of distortion. Bulky. No filter support. Some flare issues.
During the course of several days, I grew to love the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di FC USD more and more. What I soon realized is that my 24-70mm f/2.8 optic may be a nice, all-around glass, but it pales in comparison when it comes to shooting architecture and capturing dramatic perspectives.
The Tamron SP 15-30MM F/2.8 Di VC USD ultra-wide zoom lens provides great low-light performance with the their vibration correction optical image stabilization to give a great ultra-wide zoom lens. Although large, it is easy to handle while shooting.

Comfortable and easy to operate, for a while, f/2.8 and VC provide great low-light and handheld performance, Controls aberrations and distortions very well, Sharp images, even when shooting wide open, Moisture resistant construction allows you to use the lens in most climates

Large and heavy, will wear you out after some time, Lens shape prohibits the use of protective and creative filters
For those wanting a full frame ultra-wide angle focal length range (or any focal length under 24mm) with an f/2.8 aperture and image stabilization, there is no other option. Fortunately, that sole option is a good one.
The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD , ( ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ) is a very good lens. It’s very sharp in the center and still pretty good out to the edges on full frame cameras, even wide open. Additionally, the stabilization is effective to the extent of maybe 2 stops at 15mm and 3 stops at 30mm.
When it comes to creating excellent wide-angle photos and giving the most bang for the buck to photographers, Tamron seems to have the formula almost perfect. With great colors, excellent sharpness, and a very versatile focal length range, a photographer would be thrilled to have the Tamron 15-30mm...
This ultra-wide angle lens from Tamron sports a fast constant aperture of f/2.8 and as it is one of Tamron's 'SP' lenses, it sports rugged build quality and a dust and weather sealed construction.
We’ve had the Tamron SP 15–30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD lens in the D-Photo office this month and we’ve been experimenting with what it can do. It didn’t take us very long to realize that this lens is a clear competitor for the Canon 16–35mm 2.8 II lens, as one of the few wide-angle lenses on the market...
This 15-30mm lens from Tamron offers excellent optical performance for a reasonable price. Vibration Compensation is an added bonus, especially if your photography tends to require shooting at slow shutter speeds handheld.

Excellent sharpness throughout the range in the centre and towards the edges when stopped down, Effective Vibration Compensation system, Good value, Robust build quality, Moisture resistant construction
-
-
Not as sharp towards the edges at maximum aperture, Slight wave to distortion pattern may make corrections more difficult to apply in software afterwards
You can argue long and loudly whether it is easier to design a 15-30 mm or a 14-24 mm lens. You can also discuss passionately what is more important: one millimeter at the wide end or six millimeters at the long one.

solid casing,, sensational image quality in the frame centre,, good image quality on the edge of the APS-C/DX sensor,, acceptable image quality on the edge of full frame,, negligible longitudinal chromatic aberration,, properly corrected lateral chromatic aberration,, slight spherical aberration,,...

significant distortion on the wide angle of full frame,, work against bright light could have been better.
This is a quality lens optically and mechanically. My comments realate to a sample size of 1, mine, mounted on a D800E. It is a fast ultra wide zoom not a prime. What this lens does that other lenses do not:Vibration Compensation - Yes this is useful.
Very Sharp at f/2.8 15mm across the lens Best 15-30 mm zoom for the price $1,199 Nice to have VC if you need it Like having the extra zoom 24-30 6 year warranty Feels like a very solid lens
