My summary of the Tamron's 20 mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 test was hardly enthusiastic but in the case of the 2.8/24 model I admit I am far more optimistic. The 2.8/24 lens is noticeably sharper in the centre and on its edges – here you really can't find any weaknesses.

+
very good image quality in the frame centre,, good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,, sensible image quality on the edge of full frame,, lack of problems with longitudinal chromatic aberration,, slight lateral chromatic aberration,, imperceptible spherical aberration,, decent coma...

-
huge vignetting on full frame,, very high distortion,, slow autofocus.

24mm is a classic focal length for full-frame cameras, and with good reason. Although it is no longer regarded as being such an ultra-wide as it was, it retains its position as the widest lens that is clearly usable for general-purpose shooting as well as dramatic wide-angle effects.

Excellent sharpness, Well-controlled CA, Moisture resistance, Excellent flare resistance, Macro focusing to 1:2, Light and compact, Excellent price, 5-year guarantee, Silent AF

Distortion needs in-camera or software correction
