While full format DSLR gear is still going relatively strong, the same can't be said about APS-C format lenses. Occasionally, we are still seeing mild updates to cameras but APS-C DSLR lenses have basically reached the end-of-line state at least from manufacturers.
The 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD Lens is an important member of Tamron's lineup. I think that all kits should have a wide-angle zoom lens in them and this lens just might be the best option for yours.
Specification For users of Canon and Nikon APS-C format DSLRs, Tamron has upgraded their highly successful 10-24mm zoom. Offering a “35mm equivalent” of 16-37mm (Canon) or 15-36mm (Nikon), let's see how this new updated lens performs, using the Canon EOS 600D body for this review.
With this new ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, Tamron has merged beautiful craftsmanship with intuitive design. From the outer casing hugging the contours of the lens, to the deftly worked Luminous Gold brand ring and meticulous construction, the quality of this lens is second to none.
. Whatever this lens doesn’t give you right out of the box you’ll be able to fix in post-production. It should be praised for its build quality, light weight, overall pretty decent image quality, fast autofocus performance and compact size.
The Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for Canon APS-C and Nikon DX format DSLRs. It features optical image stabilisation and moisture-resistant construction, and has an RRP of £579.

The Tamron 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD captures ultra-wide views and boasts a sturdy all-weather design, but doesn't deliver impeccable optics.

The Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD undercuts comparable lenses from Nikon and Canon with the main added benefit of an effective image stabilisation system, although whether that's really necessary on such a wide-angle lens is perhaps open to question.
Only lens to feature Vibration Control (Image Stabilization) in the 10mm range. You want to see smooth Gimbal moves - WOW! Silent. Heavy Duty build. Heavy with stiff movement. Which is better than the opposite. Love the Matte Finish look. Makes for no burnt fingers in the SoCal 120-degree sun.
Absolutely incredible lens for my crop sensor Canon!
It's sharp, very little distortion and chromatic aboration. Besides, it handles lights very well.
One more big advantage - is it's focal lens! 20-24 mm is absolutely perfect for this type of lens.
I spend a lot of time reviewing and testingh gear. Using this lens, I tested with the Canon 80D, dual pixel af, and vlogged with it. Also, used it for tracking my face for videos. It's an amazing lens. Build quality is decent, snappy af, sharp photos end to end and only slight vignetting wide open.
Lens is Fantastic. Only lens that is close to F3.5 WITH 10mm WITH Vibration Control. So smooth on my Crane Gimbal with an SL1. No noise but slightly heavy. Quiet auto focus and very good build quality. Yeah, I know. It is made of Space Age Plastics. But it is built Heavy Duty.
This lens is an unbelievable bargain for the performance it delivers. I bought one to compare with my Tokina 11-20 f/2.8, and when doing a head-to-head comparison, I was blown away that the Tamron outperformed the Tokina not only wide-open, but also stopped down.
This is a great lens. Beautifully made looks great on my camera which is a Nikon D3200. The picture quality is beautiful. Zoom speed is pretty quick the lens is pretty quiet for photograph which I main use it for. Video Im not sure if it can be heard.
I love this lenses I have yet to find anything I dont like. Great clarity quick auto focus easy manual love it currently my favorite. Lense.
I was sold the lens for a full frame camera, but it is hardly possible to say that it is for such a camera. You can not use flash whit it, the pictures are far too dark or too bright.
