Squier Classic Vibe Active '70s Jazz Bass with Maple Fingerboard and Black Pickguard (Mocha)

Squier Classic Vibe Active '70s Jazz Bass with Maple Fingerboard and Black Pickguard (Mocha)

Inspired by the iconic 1970s Jazz Bass, this Squier model blends vintage style with modern performance. Features include Fender-designed Noiseless pickups, a 9V active preamp with tone shaping controls, a HiMass bridge, and a striking maple fingerboard with block inlays—all wrapped in a rich Mocha finish.

Fender-Designed Alnico Noiseless Jazz Bass Pickups

This bass is equipped with a pair of specially voiced alnico noiseless single-coil pickups designed by Fender. These pickups deliver the signature clarity, articulation, and tonal richness of classic '70s jazz basses—without the hum and noise often associated with single-coils. Whether you're laying down tight funk grooves, smooth R&B lines, or aggressive rock riffs, these pickups offer a balanced output and dynamic range that responds well to both fingers and pick.

9-Volt Active Preamp with Tone-Shaping Controls

An integrated 9-volt active preamp transforms the tone-shaping capabilities of this bass. With independent controls for master volume, pickup blend, treble boost, and bass boost, players can fine-tune their sound for any musical context. The bass also includes a mini toggle switch that allows you to engage or disengage the preamp, instantly switching between active and passive modes. This provides ultimate flexibility, giving you both the punch and clarity of active electronics and the warm, organic tones of passive circuitry in one instrument.

HiMass Bridge for Improved Resonance and Sustain

The HiMass bridge is a high-performance hardware upgrade that significantly enhances the instrument’s sustain and resonance. Its solid metal construction ensures better contact between the strings and the body, allowing vibrations to transfer more efficiently. The result is a fuller, more powerful low end and improved overall tonal definition. It also contributes to more stable intonation and tuning, even under heavy playing conditions.

Vintage-Style Maple Fingerboard with Block Inlays

A bound maple fingerboard with large black block inlays gives this bass its unmistakable 1970s aesthetic. The smooth, hard maple provides a snappy, bright tonal response, adding clarity to each note. The block inlays and cream binding aren’t just visual throwbacks—they help the bass stand out on stage and in the studio while contributing to a comfortable playing surface that bassists will appreciate during long sessions.

Nickel-Plated Hardware and Vintage-Tinted Gloss Neck Finish

Every detail of this instrument has been carefully designed to honor its vintage roots. The nickel-plated hardware offers both durability and a slightly aged visual appeal, enhancing the bass's overall retro vibe. The neck features a vintage-tinted gloss polyurethane finish that not only looks period-correct but also provides a slick, fast feel for smooth transitions and comfort during play. Combined with the Mocha finish and black pickguard, this gives the bass a striking look with a timeless feel.
