Sony's X930D TV should appeal to people who can't afford OLED yet still want a high performance, beautifully designed TV from a well known brand.

The Sony XBR-X930D delivers spectacular overall picture quality, with extreme brightness, deep black levels and superb color. Its understated design includes a pencil-thin upper cabinet. Android TV's large app selection means you might not need to use an external streamer.
-
-
More expensive than some similarly performing TVs, and not as good of a picture as OLED.

Sony's X930D 4K television line brings native HDR video support to a reasonable price range, and really shows off just how good the new video format can look.

HDR content is visually impressive. Excellent color reproduction. Very bright panel. Good connected features.
-
-
Middling black levels. Remote and Android TV operating system are a bit clunky.

We were able to view this model alongside the X930D from last year. The new model has superb up-scaling and conversion of standard definition, HD, DVD, and BluRay incoming content. Sony's new advanced (video) noise reduction gives their newer models an excellent smooth quality.

The X930D does a lot of things right, and looks very good doing them

New features in this years Sony flagship LED-LCD TV model has a slim backlight drive, which is a full array backlight feature that's new and improved. As we have noted in the past, the best LED-LCD TVs have excellent full array backlighting as a separating feature.

Sony's hero HDR 4K TV for 2016 is a triumph of design and image ingenuity, but usability remains its Achilles' heel.
I love watching movies in IMAX 3D. It's unfortunate that most television reviewers seem to downplay the added benefit of 3D viewing. I was torn between this TV and last years Samsung JS9500. Best Buy only had an open box unit of the JS9500 that was missing its stand and remote.

Android TV, HDR, and good color accuracy

Terrible Cross Talk for 3D movies
I buy a new TV every 2-3 years being a customer of high end Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic and Sony televisions. This is the best TV and most favorite TV I have ever purchased. After using Android TV for 2 weeks I could never go back to any other Television without it built in.

Android TV is its killer feature, Best picture quality for the price on any TV, Hangs on the wall like a picture frame
-
-
No 3D glasses included, if you care about that
same price as every other retailer online, just google the model number, very deceptive to say you save $1500
When we purchase a high end TV, it is always a Sony so, let me preview this review by saying that we already own a Sony XBR-65X930D TV, along with three other older XBR Sony TV's and this TV is awesome The colors are simply amazing and the installation was rather simple.
