The Sony WH-1000XM4 are impressive for commute and travel. While they aren't the most portable headphones, their hard carrying case can help protect them while you're on the go. There isn’t a lot of new features on the WH-1000XM4, but that’s because it is already very good. For existing WH-1000XM3 owners, there is little reason to upgrade, more so when the design is almost identical, providing little freshness to the new purchase.

Relatively marginal improvements that might not matter to many, Overall plastic design lacks the premium outlook, No aptX audio codec, although SBC did not fare poorly, Ambient sound not as open sounding

Sony has been making noise-canceling headphones for years, and it's gotten pretty good at it. We had very few complaints about Sony's WH-1000XM3 headphones , so there wasn't much to fix in the latest iteration.

This was my first ever "big" purchase on an electronic device and these were 1000% worth the money I spent! I wanted a pair of headphones that were noise canceling because I get distracted easily with outside noises, and the Sony WH-1000MX4 do the job PERFECTLY!
-
+
-great noise canceling, the few times I do hear things going on "outside" it's very, very distant/muted-sound quality is fantastic (it's like I'm in a concert!) the music I listen to I can hear the instruments and the beat so clearly

If you're on the hunt for the best possible noise cancellation on the market, we can't recommend the Sony WH-1000XM4 enough. These headphones immersed us in a near-perfect cone of silence — sounds had to be substantially louder than normal conversation tones to interrupt our listening experience.

These headphones are worth it. I love that when I turn them on, the noise cancellation turns on and it's really cool. Setting up my settings on the Sony app is really easy. The headphones are comfortable as well and I can wear them for long periods of time without my ears hurting.

great controls, great feedback, good audio quality. overall great product.

Good headphones. Noise cancellation is great, sound quality is great. The only thing that bothers me is any big movements cause a wobble sound on the headphones. You can turn the noise cancellation off and down but you have to do that every time you turn them on because they default to 100% noise...

I bought these about 2 months ago for working in my lab so I could move around without being tethered by a headphone cable. For reference, I work in a robotics lab that's usually filled with the sound of yelling or mini-battle bots fights (so essentially, so loud I can't hear myself think...

I really like these headphones. The noise cancellation is much superior compared to the last headphone set which I've used. Only drawbacks I've found so far is: 1) it takes about 5 seconds whenever accepting a phone call for headphones to work properly for phone conversations, 2) the ear pads are...

1) Noise cancellation is probably the best I've seen out of all other over the ear headphones I tried on.2) Sound quality is excellent for communications and treble type music.3) Application can be used to provide more bass to your music but not to magnitude of Bose or Beats.

1) It takes about 5 seconds whenever accepting a phone call for headphones to work properly for phone conversations due to having to manually adjust phone's audio connection to headphone after accepting phone calls.

Excellent sound. It can be paired with two bluetooth devices, i.e., laptop and Iphone. I really like the Sony App for setting up the earphones. I just wish the charging cable was longer. It does not come with a charger.

I still use and love the XM3, it is the best headphone I have. My only wish was to have the ability to connect multiple devices at a time. Though not the complete feature I expected the XM4 allows to at least connect to 2 devices. Noise cancelation, sound quality and battery life are all excellent.
