Sony shook things up last year when it launched its first set of true wireless active noise-cancelling earbuds, and now the new WF-SP800N are here to pick up that torch. With waterproofing and a lower price tag, they don’t replace the WF-1000XM3 but slot in underneath them.

Sound great and Extra Bass lives up to its name, Active noise cancellation is almost up to WF-1000XM3's, IP55 water/dustproofing is great for fitness use, Battery life is epic, Comfortable, secure fit
-
-
Charging case is bulky and lacks Qi, Doesn't quite match ANC/sound of WF-1000XM3's, Earbuds are a little heavy and protrude from your ears
Solid noise cancellation, powerful audio performance, and a water-resistant build make the Sony WF-SP800N a strong contender in this price range
-
+
Powerful audio performance with deep bass and sculpted highs, Excellent battery life, Water-resistant build, App has ANC and EQ controls, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support
-
-
Limited controls, Large charging case offers less extra battery life than usual
The Sony WF-SP800N are great for sports and fitness. They have a very stable fit that allows the buds to stay in your ears, even during intense workouts. They’re quite well-built, with a dense plastic construction that’s rated IP55 for dust and water resistance, though we don’t currently test for...

Sturdy build quality., Very secure fit.

Default control scheme doesn't have volume controls.
Sony’s noise-canceling WF-1000XM3 earbuds have been considered some of the best-sounding true wireless earbuds on the market since their release. But the 1000XM3s lack any kind of official sweat or water resistance, which means they’re not really cut out for running or other fitness use.
-
+
Secure, comfortable fit, Adequate noise cancellation, Bass has plenty of oomph for workout playlists
-
-
Overall sound quality isn’t as detailed or pleasing as 1000XM3s, Case lacks wireless charging and only has enough battery for one recharge, No multipoint Bluetooth pairing
The WF-SP800N is basically a sports variant of the WF-1000XM3 with a few features removed and with a slightly lower price point. It’s somewhat a mixed bag and will probably appeal to consumers who needs ANC and Ambient Sound feature during their workout routine, with good mic for calls.
-
+
Equalizer setting is saved to earbuds, Supports most of the premium features available in WF-1000XM3, Good mic pick-up and works with either earbuds
-
-
Overall chunky design, Large case but can only enough to charge the earbuds once, Average ANC quality
“Like an elite athlete, Sony's WF-SP800N earbuds excel at everything they do.”
-
+
Great sound, Class-leading battery life, Very good water and dust protection, Good active noise cancellation, Excellent call quality
-
-
Bulky charging case, No wireless charging
With so many other great options available in this price point, the Sony WF-SP800N buds are too finicky for me to recommend to anyone Sure, Sony 360 Reality Audio is super cool, but these aren't the only headphones that are fully compatible.
-
+
Compatible with Sony 360 Reality Audio, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant integration, IP55 sweat protection, 9-hour battery life, Good sound quality with EQ options, USB-C charging, Solid charging case quality
-
-
Touch-sensitive controls are hit or miss, Connection skips and stutters, Poor noise cancellation and isolation, Only feature AAC and not Sony LDAC, Price
In my continued quest for the perfect pair of wireless earbuds, I purchased the Sony WF-SP800N from Amazon a week ago for $198. These headphones promise nine hour battery life, active noise canceling, and IP55 dust/water resistance.
-
+
Excellent audio performance with strong bass, Very long battery life, High level of water resistance, Easy, reliable touch controls, Silicon fin and eartip for good fit
-
-
Fall out easily, Large size, Huge charging case, 360 Reality Audio limited to few subscription services
Sony’s new mid-range model offers a lot of high-end features at an affordable price. The WF-SP800N are designed to withstand your sweaty workouts with the company’s powerful Adaptive Sound Control on top of great sound quality, reliable touch controls and customizable EQ.

+
Price, Deep punchy bass, Powerful ANC, 360 Reality Audio compatibility, Loads of premium features
-
-
Awkward fit, On-board volume controls requires sacrifice, No wireless charging
Sony makes some of the best noise-canceling headphones and earbuds money can buy — the WH-1000XM3 and WF-1000XM3 are widely considered to be the gold standard in each of their respective product categories.

Battery lifeNine hours on a chargewithANC., SoundNice and bassy. Customizable with Sony's companion app., Noise cancelingIt doesn't rival over-ear headphones, but it does work.

ComfortI find the WF-SP800N get uncomfortable after a couple hours., LooksSubjective, but Sony's earbuds continue to look like props from a made-for-TV sci-fi movie., SizeIt's to be expected with ANC, but the buds and their case are chunky.
Stop purchasing from beats, or those knock offs online. I have these and the WH-1000XM3. I'm never without them. Sony is the superb brand of sound tech for the combination of price and quality. These head phones make my longer runs so much better. I would recommend theses again and again.

Kinda look like a snob.Needs a real name not just the product number.
These are the very best earbuds, bar none. They are waterproof and solid in the ear (haven't fallen out once since I bought them). The sound is excellent, and the noise reduction is very effective. Touching your left ear pauses the music and turns on the mic so you can speak to someone.
Absolutely love these! From the fit to the quality, everything is pretty top notch for a pair of sweatproof earbuds. I like the matte finish and feel of the case and the buds themselves have a nice modern design. The degree to which you can adjust the sound profile is crazy.
Not a bad hold when finding the right fit. Needs more options for stabilization arc. Sound quality is good but volume is somewhat lacking. ANC is effective. Infrequent issues with connectivity to one of the buds.

These little guys are fairly comfortable, and the charge lasts all day at work. I like the app that allows you to change settings.

Case doesn't allow wireless charging
I bough these for my wife, she previously had the Bose noise cancelling ear buds that were wired as they were the only one that would stay in her small ear canal. These wireless buds work awesome for her and have not fallen out even when she is running a 10 K. Great product.
Very good ear buds. Sounds is fantastic and the app let's you customize the sound in so many ways. Definitely try out the different ear pieces that come with it to find the best fit. take some time because there are a few different options to try.
I would describe WF-SP800N the most suitable device at such a reasonable rate. It has a super high punchy and powerful sound. The device does not decrease the sound base quality and is additionally superb here.
