The E 20mm F2.8 is the ideal wide-angle pancake lens for your Sony mirrorless camera.
Some barrel distortion., No stabilization., Omits dust and splash protection.
Slim and light., Sharp optics., Wide field of view., Works with fisheye and wide angle converters., Relatively affordable.
I got this lens to go on my Sony A6000 because it's a moderately wide pancake lens. I can drop this camera and lens combination with the Sony lens hood and lens cap in a cargo pocket in my shorts or pants and easily carry it with me. It comes out easily enough when I want to use it.
This isn't the sharpest lens, but it is still pretty very sharp in the center and gets a little soft in the corners. But it is so portable. It feels like a point and shoot with the a6000.
This is a great compact lens. It's great for street photography and a good lens to have when you want to keep your camera compact. It's pretty sharp, even wide open at f2.8 but you can see a little softness towards the edges of the frame.
A little soft on the edges when wide open.
Love this lens. It almost never leaves my Sony a6500. I use it primarily for video and it's great. I used it a lot for street Photography during my trip to Spain, Greece and Morroco. It became my lens of choice over my Sony 24-105 F4, 22mm f2, and 85mm f1.8. It's a must have for Sony a series.
This lens is exactly what I was needing! I own a Sony a6500 and I needed a lens for my Zhiyun Crane that was lighter than the lens I was already using (Sony 18-105 F4). This lens is super light and the F2.8 aperture really helps with blurring the background out.
Pros:Small & lightGreat, but not excellent image qualityQuick to focus, easy to use focal lengthCons:A bit expensive (retail price)Not significant, but noticeable barrel distortion
I have a Sony A6000, it has a cropped sensor and came with 2 kit lenses (16-50mm, and 70-200mm) both having low light gathering capabilities. So the end result is that I had great little camera, but a limited field of view and that required higher ISO than acceptable to get the shots I wanted.
I purchased this lens at the same time as my a6300, looking for a compact lens I could use while traveling. The effective 30mm length is a nice middle of the road length for me, allowing for landscapes, street, and environmental portrait photography.
This lens is the sprit of the compact mirrorless cameras. Super compact, sharp great all round..
I never write reviews, but this lens was worth mentioning. I have this & the 35mm f/1.8 Sony lens & won't lie, the 35mm is a much better lens. But I got this lens for convenience, for the size & for vlogs. Not as zoomed as the 35mm so it's better for vlogs. Overall, a great lens for the size..
