I purchased this lens at the same time as my a6300, looking for a compact lens I could use while traveling. The effective 30mm length is a nice middle of the road length for me, allowing for landscapes, street, and environmental portrait photography.
I've owned wide angle lens for my other crop sensor camera and have always enjoyed the unique pics they render. I bought a 16 mm and this wide angle adaptor for a 12 mm shots at half price of the larger 10-18 wide zoom.
After reading the mediocre reviews for the SEL16F28, I ended up trying this lens (SEL20F28). The lens has proved to be very handy, and I am generally happy with the photos. The photos are sharp, but low light scenes may be a little dark with some vignetting. Two jpeg photos are uploaded for review.
Great for the value! Nice and wide...
Love this lens. Pictures are sharp enough with almost zero chromatic aberration Plus the slim factor combined with the Sony a6000 makes for great portability.
Great lens adapter. I wish I had purchased it sooner.
I own several Sony lens and accessories including the fisheye converter. The biggest difference between that and thus converter is that it removes the rounded edges from the photos. I am pleased and it was much cheaper than buying the $900 10-18mm lens
Note this is an APS-C lens that does not cover full frame sensors.
Affordable and slim little piece of glass! Reads like a 35mm on the full-frame Sony A7RII, but is a great everyday focal length. Pared with the compact body of the Sony, this little camera/lens combo is a winner.
Mounted perfectly on my Sony SEL 20 2.8 (on an a6000). Provides excellent ultra-wide capability.
