I am a Certified Professional Photographer who pixel peeps. I have a huge array of Canon gear to compare with when evaluating the Sony gear. I was very happy with the stunning performance of the a7R2 camera and 70-200 Gmaster lens, and equally impressed with the 1.4 teleconverter which maintained...
I've owned wide angle lens for my other crop sensor camera and have always enjoyed the unique pics they render. I bought a 16 mm and this wide angle adaptor for a 12 mm shots at half price of the larger 10-18 wide zoom.
After reading the mediocre reviews for the SEL16F28, I ended up trying this lens (SEL20F28). The lens has proved to be very handy, and I am generally happy with the photos. The photos are sharp, but low light scenes may be a little dark with some vignetting. Two jpeg photos are uploaded for review.
This lens was purchased to photograph in subway stations with limited lighting. I'm getting used to prime lenses. The 20mm focal distance and wide angle view are great for tight spaces where the option isn't there for backing up to capture more in the frame.
As an upgrade to a Sony 16mm that I had used and abused for a year and a half, I finally settled on something that got me a bit more reach. Paired with the cropped sensor of the Sony a6000, this is a perfect little package for some great images. Its fast, its crisp, it is a great fit with that body.
It does what it should, it is great , you just add a 140-400 to your bag with this little thing, Great quality build and really keeps the GM quality glass. The only problem is that the AF is not very fast to track objects.
Great for the value! Nice and wide...
BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE 70-200 MM LENS, before purchases this 2.0x teleconverter. AS it only works on that lens. I was more focused on assuring the E-Mount requirement for my Sony A7 that I didn't realize it wouldn't work on my other three lens. Totally Bummed Out. !!!
I was hoping to use this lens with the FE 2.8 70-200 lens for birding. Especially birds in flight. This Teleconverter is well built - but the resulting 5.6 aperture is too slow for autofocus to lock in on birds in flight.
I could not install the teleconverter because I didn't know that it only works with one $2500 lens right now. .and I don't have that. ..so back it went
