I had been using a boom microphone before the purchase of the Sony Lavalier. I used the Sony Lavalier on a shoot where the filmed person was walking around equipment and describing the process of installing their solutions on the equipment.

The Sony wireless system is comparable to other similar price points on the market, but does away with the flimsy battery door that some have. I often interview non-film people for videography, and I need my mic to be bullet-proof, which Sony does well with its side-inserted battery holder.

I shoot a fair number of interviews, and I've always used wired lavalier mics (Audio-Technica Pro 70, which have been great and dirt cheap). Recently, however, I found myself with a shoot in Vegas that was going to require a fully mobile subject, so I needed a wireless lav.

I have only used this product for just a couple of weeks in producing educational videos for U-Tube and Vimeo. Following the Quick Start sheet was straight forward and I was able to sync the transmitter and receiver in a couple of minutes. Setting it up on my video camcorder was easy.

Got this unit about two weeks ago and have used it twice since. It has worked perfectly so far. Only thing it did not have one of those wind screen foam lapel mic covers included.

Works great for my trade show booth use. I've only used the setting with which it arrived. Way over my head to change anything. And I did read all of the instructions. I think you'd have to work for the FCC to understand it all.

I've used this system for well over a year now with my pro-camcorder. The sound quality is fabulous, and these units are built to last. Once you pair these units, they remain paired every time you power them up.

My old standby set, the Senn G2 series, just can't compete with these new Sony lavs as the G2 are very susceptible to interference. I've had these Sonys for almost a year now and can't recall a single problem while filming. Peace of mind and quality recordings.
