Sony SA-SW5 7.1" 300W Wireless Subwoofer for HT-A9/A7000 Soundbars

I upgraded from the SW3 and I really am glad I did. The difference in clarity is a big upgrade. The SW3 is great, and I moved it to a bedroom where it works perfectly for me, but this SW5 is really completing the cinematic experience for me in the living room.

Great sound. I am using my Sony tv speaker as the center channel as this is the best sound if you have a tv that's supports it. Set up is easy and done with your phone after all speakers have been placed were you want them. The room correction can make up for a less than perfect speaker placement.

Love the sub-woofer when coupled with the HT-A7000 soundbar.

Design is nice and it has some heft to it. My issue is the wireless connection. I have not been able to achieve a stable connection despite multiple calls to Sony. When it works it is great and I love it. However, the connection is seldom stable. Time for another call to Sony. :-(

I bought this to add in with my Sony HT-A9 system. Couldn't have been easier to wirelessly link with the system. And it IMMEDIATELY added weight and dimension to my home theater system.

I just upgraded my surround system from a 2016 Sony receiver 7.1 chan. I felt that it was getting a bit old and took up a lot of space etc. And while the sound was ok, my speakers weren't the best.I got the Sony HT-A8000 Atmos soundbar as well as the Sony SA-RS5 rear speakers.

Bought this to pair up with our new HT-A7000 sound bar, and it works perfectly. Seamless integration with the sound bar, and automatic on screen setup, and even automatic on screen update. Remote allows you to control all the variables you'd like to easily.

I bought this back in the end of July beginning of August. So far when it works I love it. I would say that it works around 90-95% of the time without incidents. I do not have the volume at max I usually keep it around 30%-50% of its max.

A great addition to my Sony HT-A7000 soundbar.

  Smoother bass, sounds more natural and blends in with the A7000.

  Big and heavy for a soundbar sub. It's substantially harder to move around than the SW3 and the shape makes it awkward to hold.

Bought it to pair with the HTA9 and what a difference! If yo have the A9, you need the SA5, the ther wasn't as effective and when I switched to this, it's the bomb! Sounds great and puts the bass to make the sound quality perfect. I have paired with a Sony X95J 85" and spectacular sound!
