Purchased this receiver to power a pair of Klipsch Quartet vintage speakers. This receiver has more than enough power to easily drive my Klipsch speakers to concert levels. No need for bells and whistles or a subwoofer in my setup.
I bought this to power a set of DIY Zaph Audio SR71's. The power seems adequate and matches the needs of the speakers quite well. All functions seem to work well, as expected. Sound quality is subjective and I don't think it helps for me to try to explain what it sounds like.

This is an excellent receiver sound wise with bluetooth. Almost unbeatable for the price. But if you still listen to FM you may have issues. I did not think for one second that they would have a specialized jack for the FM antenna, only to find out I am unable to hook up an external coaxial cable...
This is a superb product. I got it as a replacement for my old receiver and not only does it allow me to continue to connect to FM radio, my turntable, CD player, and tape deck, but the sound coming out of my speakers is terrific.
The price was not the only deciding factor for me. Over my 50 years I have owned many sony products from T.V.s to stereos and they have always lasted way past my expectations. This Receiver will not disappoint you. I have very old cheap speakers and my sound is better than I expected.
It's decent. I have it hooked up to my theater and the sound is powerful.
I just regret that many of the controls are only accessible via the remote control. But everything works fine.
A very smart amp - it has options, and programming features, I wasn't expecting - like changing Impedance levels to match the speakers I am using. You also have a 3.5 Front Input to play portable devices [using a headphone-like stereo jack - on a double jack-ended cord], & Bluetooth for either...
I've had this Sony stereo receiver for a few days now and it has surprised me in a very good way with performance for the price. I'm comparing this receiver to a Yamaha receiver that costs more than three times as much and the Sony sounds as good, if not better than the Yamaha unit, and both sound...
I am very pleased with this receiver. I purchased it to replace an older Sony unit that had developed some intermittent problems. I like the simplicity of it, and it is perfect for my turntable / cd / cassette / reel to reel setup. Adding the modern utility of bluetooth is a great bonus!
Good sound, plenty of power, phono input, bluetooth connectivity, no unnecessary features
No rear panel AC outlets, cannot listen to headphones with speakers on.
