The SRS-XB31 certainly lived up to the hype it first gave us during our initial hands-on. It truly is a premium looking rugged speakers with amazing overall audio quality, solid structure, and superb battery life.

A bit expensive
When you’re choosing speakers, you generally want to go as large as possible. Bigger speaker designs are capable of housing larger drivers, and more of them. One consequence of that is you often can experience fairly steady improvements in sound quality as the physical size of speakers are...
Sony has done a fine job with their new line of wireless speakers, hitting the right features and quality needed by the consumers.

Good volume, Ease of use, Great sound
You’d need pretty big pockets if you wanted to carry Sony’s SRS-XB31 around, but fortunately if you did, you could really claim it was a party in your pocket, because that’s what’s on offer here.

Loud, Water resistant, Lots of battery life, Charges over microUSB, Includes flashy lights made for parties, Virtual instruments are a neat, weird feature, Good value

Flashy lights aren't always (or remotely) in sync, Virtual instruments will never be used, Bass can be a bit heavy
The Sony SRS-XB31 is a fun speaker in every sense of the word with excellent audio quality and a light show that stands it apart from the competition.

Sound cuts out occasionally, but not often
Before I bought the Sony SRS-XB31, I watched a lot of reviews comparing it to the cheaper JBL charge 3. Glad I bought the Sony SRS-XB31. The sound is really lively. The bass, mids, and treble are just right after you change the setting.
Pros Sounds good with great bass especially in a corner Lights are awesome Portable/waterproof/aesthetic look Double up mode is awesome (lights sync up) Cons Bass “flutters” in some songs at high volumes Battery life is lacking, only a couple hours at max volume (mine was purchased used).
this has so good sound, especially bass sound. my recommendation is listening by live mode
Sound, battery, aesthetics all better than I expected from a portable mid priced speaker. This is actually a second one I bought. There is only one thing that I wish Sony included in their design - a little hook or an eye to thread a line and hang it wherever you need to.
I enjoy it being waterproof able to take it to basketball court in the high humidity.
GREAT SPEAKER! bought this for my husband to use outdoors and for our main TV speaker. It connects to devices easily, love all of the different color settings, and it has great battery life. It tells you through the speaker when you turn it on what battery percentage its on, which is very helpful.
This is a nice speaker but that battery dies quickly even with the lights are off. When the battery goes to 50% a woman tells you the battery is low and the volume gets very low and you can't change it even when the speaker is charging. This kills the mood quickly.
The speaker is well worth the money. Extremely customizable, long-range bluetooth connection(I.E. from like 3 rooms away), pretty, rugged, and unforgettably, the sound from this speaker is well balanced, loud, and never distorted or hollow sounding.
The speaker is literally dedicated to bass. If a soft song contains bas guitar, you literally hear nothing but bass. I tried to adjust from the app, better but not enough. Furthermore, some drums can't be heard. Bluetooth and all other things are all good.
