I've been looking for something to give the music on my phone and Ipod (yes, I still have one) a little more backbone. The Sony PHA-1A is exactly what I've been looking for. It's small enough to be easily carried around but it produces a BIG sound.
Makes portable music sound betterEasy to carry with your mobile deviceHolds a good charge
A little expensive (but you get what you pay for)
I use the PHA-1A to play FLAC file 44-192kHz from Nexus 5 mobile phone and Samsung Tab-S tablet, both android. I use the USB Audio Player Pro application on both. I connect the PHA-1A to both devices with the supplied cable (Sony says very little on compatibility, seems the cable is micro-usb to...
Overall Impressions This is a amazingly looking device, it does not matter how you look at it, it is simply a pleasure to look at. That is the first impact that one have once you look at it, it calls your attention, I even make a point of not keeping it visible when I’m on the go.
- looks amazing, built like a tank, gives your iOS device new life
- Battery, no proprietary carry case
Extremely limited application. I plan to return for refund. Team has a similar product with more broad application.
All good.Thank you
Works well. Clear sound. Not fatiguing. Excellent construction. Holds battery charge well. Lasts only around 6 hours hence 4 stars.
I was intending to buy a new Fiio x5 mk3 with an external amp but decided to try this paired with my underused Ipod 6g as it is a somewhat cheaper option. The standard apple cable connects into the usb socket on the base of the PHA-1EU.
I recently purchased the Sony PHA-1A. I have this coupled with the Sony NW A35 a hi-rez player. I was a bit skeptical that this would significantly improve the sound. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The Sony PHA-1A provided more detail and clarity.
Great audio, very powerful and well built
I own both this Sony and also the Teac. They are both terrific pieces of equipment and greatly enhance the listening experience and I actually recommend both. However I will give a slight edge to the Sony in that it does provide an even clearer and more precise interpretation of the music I listen...
Great music enhancement. Really makes your headphones pop.Light weight. Good battery life.
Kind of expensive but if you're a real headphone fan they are well worth the investment.
