I am an event videographer shooting primarily indoors with unpredictable lighting. I use a multi-camera setup to capture the action from different angles for editing together, and I was looking for a set of cameras to be secondary shots to my main camera which is a Sony EX1.
only 4 stars as all the addons you recieve in this package cant be used with the camera, the boot that everything clips into on the top of the camera is incompatable.
I now own 3x cx900's.. I record live stage plays and not only do I care about visual quality, but I also emphasize high quality audio.. I use an xlr adapter on one of the cx900's and sync the other in camera mic to the main audio.
This camcorder is great for my needs. The nd filters are really useful. Too bad there is no times lapse functionI should have purchased the Sony Fdrax53 for times lapse. Focusing is slow but a firmware update has helped make some improvements.

I don't know what other so called reviewers are talking about, this camcorder is great.
We use this camera at the College where I work and so far, it has worked great. It is light, easy to understand and use (the documentation is not so great, but go on YouTube and you'll find a gazillion tutorials), have had no issues with sound quality or anything, as yet.
clear and good product
The camera takes great video and stills. The sound is better than I was lead to believe by some of the other reviews. I switched from surround sound recording to stereo and am quite pleased with the quality of the audio.
Best camera I have ever used
