Moderately fast (as opposed to insanely fast) 85mm or 100mm lenses are generally an easy choice unless something went terribly wrong during the design phase. Still, honours where honours are deserved - the Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 is an epic lens.
I took this lens to Napa and Sonoma over the weekend and it turned out to be a great lens. I was bouncing between the zeiss 55 and this lens all weekend long. I do like how it bokeh balls look at 1.8 vs the zeiss 55, they look more round vs football.
If you're looking for an 85mm lens for Sony full frame mirrorless camera, look no further. This lens has amazing center sharpness with borders only marginally behind. It produces very creamy bokeh and really good contrast and colors. Vignetting is well-controlled.
