I purchased this lens primarily for video, with added benefit of being able capture some decent photos when there is not enough time to change lenses. I did a lot of research before purchasing this lens, and it exceeded my expectations.
I saw some reviews on youtube, the Zeiss 24-70, which is smaller in size but just as heavy as I believe. This one might be bigger, but you have a bigger range and honestly, it does a great job, I love it. I did a headshot the other day, very satisfied with the results.
This new lens will no doubt be an excellent lens. But the SEL18200 is also an excellent lens. There likely will not be any noteworthy difference in image quality between the two lenses.
Little bit soft sharpness compare to other high end lens but it is not critical. within this price, I think it is the best zoom lens for sony camera
excellent price and a quality lens. Speedy and efficient delivery
but you already knew that, just look anywhere on the internet
I bought this lens for Trip to Oregon, I took a lot of pictures from Multnomah Falls, Burney Falls, Vista House Crown Point on the Columbia River....I got too many beautiful pictures, I am very satisfied with this lens.
This lens is a great package. The Focal length, image quality, build quality and price all make this a lens I highly recommend. But when you shoot video, at some point you'll need to focus manually, and that's where this lens gets caught with it's pants down.
I purchased the 18-105 lens as my single go-to lens for a number of trips I have planned for this fall. It was a good choice. The construction is solid, the action of the zoom/focus rings is true, and the 18-105 zoom range is ideal for nearly everything I shoot.
This is an ideal travel lens. The range of 18-105mm allows for quick composition. I travelled through S.E. Asia with my a6000 and the two kit lenses: 18-50mm and 55-210mm, and while both are very good, I found myself having to interchange them more often than I would like.
