I used this lens at a dance rehearsal days ago. I found the zoom capability very easy and in low light was able to shoot at ISO 3200 at a shutter speed of 100-125, without a flash and still have great photos, because of the larger diameter.
This seems to be a great lens for the a63000. I have only used it a little so far. One thing; it is not small or that light so it will add weight and bulk to the compact a63000. Both the camera and lens came at the same time, which was really appreciated.
This new lens will no doubt be an excellent lens. But the SEL18200 is also an excellent lens. There likely will not be any noteworthy difference in image quality between the two lenses.
I got this lens ever since it was out and I use it on my A6000.Its compact enough, sharp enough, fast enough and most important sturdy enough. I have traveled over 20000 km with it and 0ver 6000 km on my motorcycle through real rough weather, from sea level to 18,000 feet.
Excellent all round lens. It increases your photographic possibilities of capturing landscapes, details, and even portraits. Its size makes them suitable for the Sony's A6000 series. You can also manually adjust the focus.
Got this lens with my FS5. Bought other lenses afterwards but I always find myself coming back to this one out of sheer convenience. I shoot things like weddings, events, and interviews where there isn't really time to fiddle around with manual focus/multiple lenses and this is lens is on my camera...
I bought for my second camera to have a similar range as my 28-135mm power zoom for 2 camera video shoots but did not expect the performance to be anywhere close to the 28-135mm, but in some ways it's even better. The zoom ring is more responsive for snap zooms and I love how lightweight it is.
I was finally able to give this lens a good, hard test run on a 4 day trip in Cuba. My initial impression was that the AF was fast but always seemed to be a little off. With the focus assist on the a6000 this turned out not to be an issue at all.
Awesome and sturdy lens. Little large but definitely worth it.
Fast focus for Sony A6500 4k video. A must have for any kit. Complement the kit with the 10-18mm for those wide angle shots. I have spent days with this as my only lens on my camera. Great to use with the Zhiyun Crane stabilizer.
