I've used the ECM-77B to record about 35 documentary-style interviews in the past year. I'm consistently impressed with the quality of recording it produces. I don't want to speak to its noisiness in any way because I think it varies depending on your setup, but I use it with a Tascam digital...
Use this microphone in the past twenty years, the sound quality is very best & very low noise. I've got 2 ECM77 & 1 set ECM88.
Based on the price point of this product, it meets my needs for a reliable, wired microphone to use with my Panasonic AG-AC160A camera. Some of the environments in which training videos are shot have too much interference to use a wireless mic.
It's the best mic I got for my namaz in the masjid nice eco system voice
This mike has a good pattern, small enough to hide, great for the speaking vocal range, and essential for use with Sony transmitters. Sony transmitter pack a lot into their signal, (encryption, pairing signal, along with the freq.
Love it, Used it today on 7 part promo for a book online marketing piece. Small, hidden, sounds great. Used ECM-50 for years and this ECM-77b is to replace that work horse. Turner and Associates Sacramento CA
I thought the stock mic with the Sony UWP V1 was pretty good, but after hearing so much about this one I decided to pull the trigger. I had two wireless sets and needed a backup, and now this is my main mic and one of the stock mics is backup. This mic has taken my work to the next level.
We use this for sit down interviews all over the world. Our mics are beat up in luggage, carted in backpacks to small villages and always sound the same. I rent these out and they come back fine. Sound quality is probably a 8-9 out of 11.
Used by students in a college news program these mics are durable and provide good sound under a variety of conditions.
