I've used Sony Lavaliers fro over 40 years. They are the standard. I would like a clip system similar to the TRAM microphone, but the traditional clip is fine. The ECM-44B is excellent quality and works as I expected.
I have used this so far for an interview indoors and echo is too a minimum and it is really easy to clip the mic onto the subject and included gear. I have also used it outdoors on a fairly windy day while doing a performance involving pouring water.
I conduct interviews for magazine articles and so I need nice, clean recordings for easy transcription. I am very pleased with this mic and will likely buy another one in the near future.
It has a bit of a large profile, but the sound is good.
I just received this wired lav. a week ago & had my first time using it yesterday... The audio coming through the camera was clearer than any other mic. I've used in the past. I like that it connects directly into the camera & I don't have to rely on a radio signal that is vulnerable toradio...
I do a lot of filming in the Holy Land and wireless mic systems are not always allowed. This EMC-44B is just what I depend on to maintain the same audio quality as the Sony wireless mic. I've also been a TV journalist for many years and this mic is all we used. Great for the price.
Love my lavalier microphones. They always give me the most professional sound. I have 5 of these microphones.
It's easy to know when it's time to replace these lil' guys, because the slightest move by your interviewee means horrible crackling in the headphones! I hate that, and I love that Sony keeps these moderately prices in the $100 range!
The quality of the product is excellent and is delivered in optimal conditions.
I've been using this style of mic for the last 15 years. It is perfect for interview settings.
