I bought this for the remote control not the tripod. As you would expect the tripod isn't very impressive at this price. It us usable for stills but not adequate for video with pan and tilt. The remote control is much more useful and allows you to select fast or slow zoom speed.
Tripod is junk. It is flimsy, short, and does not effectively hold the weight of the AX100 or AX33. Remote is great and, more importantly, removable. I bought this so I could use the remote on a Sony VCT 870 tripod.
If you are looking for a Multi-Terminal remote with true variable speed zoom, this is it. I am using it with an a6500 and Sony SELP18105G lens. I am recording video of stage productions so need variable-speed zoom while shooting.
I got this tripod to work with my new Sony RX10 IV. I developed an essential tremor at 17 years old and it's gotten progressively worse over the last 43 years. I find myself needing a tripod more often than I used to.
PURCHASED THIS FOR MY SONY DSC-H300 CAMERA KNOWING THAT ITWOULD NOT WORK WITH MY OTHER SONY DSLR CAMERAS.
I have owned this tripod for about three years now. Each time I use it I am happy to have it. It has got to be my best investment into video that I have ever made. This connects directly to my HDR-PJ540 and works first time, every time. No more jumpy video when I am trying to zoom in our out.
Excellent lightweight Tripod. This tripod works great with my Sony a6300. I have the E PZ 18-105 F4 G OSS lens and the remote works flawlessly with it. Every function works and I love the remote switch when power zooming because this is the only remote that can fully ultilize the variable servo...
So far, I am pleased with this tripod. It is moderately sturdy and the head is fluid. I am especially pleased with the remote controls, which give me better control over the camcorder than other tripods I have used. I am looking forward to more and better experiences with this tripod!
The tripod itself is a good quality tripod for it's style. The remote is really for video as it allows some really smooth, well controlled zoom.
Just bought it and connected to my A7 camera. Looks great! However, the power light on remote is on green but none of the buttons works. No troubleshooting on menu instruction. Very frustrating.
