This monitor is a great option when using it to frame your shot or for YouTube vlogging when you're using the Sony A6500. The main reason I bought it is because I do YouTube videos and when I'm attempting to record myself I can't frame the shot properly because the sony a6500 doesn't have a flip-out...
As I am getting near 50, this allows me to check focus and color much easier. I also show people their picture and it is easy for them to see. So I bought a second one for my second camera. I use this on my Sony A900 and Sony A850.
Perfect size of screen for field filming - fits in your hand perfectly and comes with a sun shade. purchase and HDMI type A to type C cable 5ft or more
I purchased this monitor to help ensure the products being imaged with my Sony Alpha were in focus rather than wait for post-processing through Lightroom and setting up do-over shots.
I needed this to get a clearer image as I'm using my NEX 6 for video. I need to use peaking. When peaking is on the image turns black and white making it difficult to know what's going on with color while using peaking.
It significantly improves comfortavility of making video. You can focus much easier. The size is not very big, colours and contrast are very good.
Superb HDMI monitor solution for those looking to monitor their video recordings. It is very good for monitoring focus for those cameras that allow manual focusing. The peaking and 1 to 1 pixel checking is ideal for those shooting HD video and want to confirm focus for sharpness.
I love this thing - I use it all the time for shooting video with the A77 + A99 cameras. It really helps manual focusing so much because it has a 1x zoom you can use ALL the time.
I use this monitor for videography monitoring. I have a Canon 5d mark 3 dslr and a Canon XA10 video camera. The monitor works great minus the fact the display does not show full screen. The hood works great when you need to block out the light .
This monitor is fantastic and very clear ... BUT it does not upscale the image with the 5d when you hit record. This problem is obviously well known since Marshall and SmallHD have products out with that feature. So if you plan on using it with the Canon 5D, don't but this product.
