The Sony 28-75mm f/2.8 SAM is an affordable alternative to the Zeiss ZA 24-70mm f/2.8. Technically it isn't all that far away from its bigger brother - both have a weakness at max. aperture specifically with respect to the corner resolution.

Lens would not correctly focus when using the auto focus option on my Sony Alpha 77II. Had to go thru the AF Micro Adjust option on the camera..Seems to work better now. Other Alpha lenses did not have this problem. Lens is well constructed and easy to use.

I bought a99 and this lens back in December and got the camera in 2 days. According to the shipping date i was suppose to get the lens on Dec 18, then it changed to Dec 28th. Finally i got my lens Feb 23rd, yes talk about luck....

Not quite as wide as the Zeiss 28-75mm but half the price and the pictures are outstanding. I have many Minolta legend lenses even the Minolta breer cans and secret handshake lenses this is newer technology and match the resolution of the newer cameras. I use mine on an a99 and I get superb results.

I got this lens as a promotion for the purchase of a Sony A99. I am new to FF photography and didn't know what I was really getting, although for the price it should be a decent lens. Well as it turns out it is a very decent lens.

I got this lens with my new Sony NEX VG 900 it was way over priced and the quality of this lens is not very good. I would have rather got a different lens with my camera.
