Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens for NEX Cameras

While there's no doubt that the focal length of the lens is useful, it suffers compared to shorter lenses. In fact, it falls short when compared with the performance of other manufacturers of similar lenses, such as the Sigma OS version or the Nikon version.

I wasn't sure if I should have gotten this lens or the other, larger, Sony 18-200mm (silver). I can't compare it to the other Sony but this one is smaller, a good build, it performs great. The focus is quick on my a6500 and it's very stabalized even when out towards 200mm.

Quite a compact lens for this huge focal range. Close focus is impressive, as it works at full zoom, and OSS is very good. No reason to carry around an 18-55 lens, really, unless size is a concern. I only wish that it would focus faster, especially in low light.

My own Nex lens ranking is like this. 1. Zeiss 24mm 2. 50mm F1.8 3. 30mm F3.5 4. 18-200 LE 5. 18-55 Bundle I like fixed range lenses because IQ is very reliable and low maximum aperture is make a great blur for portrait. Always want crispy crispy and crispy photo.

I purchased this lens as my walk about lens on a SONY A6300 and have been really pleased with it.

I'm using this lens on an a6300.I would have to categorize this lens as "sharp enough" and "good enough." I am happy with the photos I make with it while understanding that I am trading off some optical quality for the convenience of fewer lens changes.

This is a fantastic " do it all " lens, it is on my Sony A600 all the time, 18mm good for indoors and 200mm great for capturing wild animals, far off sport ect. Its a good size on the A600 and not heavy
