The following images were taken with a Sony 10-18mm SEL-1018 lens mounted on a NEX 6 body. Image stabilisation was enabled for the hand-held shots and disabled for the tripod-mounted ones.
Handling and features An ultra wide angle zoom lens for Sony NEX cameras that provides an angle of view equivalent to a 15-27mm lens on a 35mm camera. The lens also sports a constant maximum aperture of f/4, optical image stabilisation and costs around £700.
I bought my a6000 (as an upgrade from the rx100) for two reasons. One, I needed fast focus of my fast moving kid. And, secondly, I wanted to be able to do things that I just couldn't my little camera.
Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
This lens will cover full frame A7/A7R just not at 10mm or 18mm where there is too much vignette. For me, 14mm through 16 or 17mm works great with 16mm being the best. Very sharp with little distortion in the corners at 16mm f8 & f11.
Easy To Use, Lightweight, Very sharp
I bought my a6000 in 2015. I was looking for a light weight camera that could take great pictures. I soon realized that a single charge did not last very long. I could only get about 2 hours from the battery.
Very good lens. Wide angle. At these focal lengths it distorts, but that is what you want. Great for landscapes. My daughter in law even shot bicycle races. Very interesting pictures where distortion adds drama to the image. I am very happy with this lens. Very well made.
As far as the E-Mount system goes, there aren't a lot of options for wide angle lenses. The SEL1018 however fixes that problem by going Super Wide. Although with a focal length of 10mm on an APS-C Sensor makes it actually 15mm on a Full Frame camera, it is still wider than any other E-Mount lens out...
Wide angle, zoom capabilities, 62mm diameter
Great effect you get with the 10mm. Great color and contrast. Super sharp. Fun photos. Super depth of field.
Size, quality and fit and finish.
It would be nice to have a 10mm optical finder to match the lens. If you are shooting a fast moving object coming towards you shooting continuous frames, you tend to lose the object if it passes over you or by you. You would be able to keep it in frame easier with the optical finder.
